MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHOR
The actual number of hours you will spend conducting a job search compared to the actual number of hours you spend involved in duties and responsibilities of your career is a sliver of time. This is especially true when you consider that many people are choosing to work longer and careers are now lasting forty to fifty years! In very broad (unscientific) terms, the amount of time you spend committed to a job search could be one to six months of actual time in a forty- to fifty-year career. When you consider the ramifications of a job search against career enjoyment and financial earning power, the importance of a well-planned and well-executed job search becomes apparent.
I wrote this workbook to work in conjunction with The Motivated Job Search and Over 50 and Motivated! books. The writing exercises are designed to make you think about your career and your job search, and to serve as a platform to create and organize information. When you use this workbook in conjunction with either of the job search books, you can rest assured that you have the information to plan and execute a Self-Motivated Job Search in the most effective and efficient way possible.
To your success!
