Different Types of Introverts

Introverts are generally quiet. They are reserved and theydont talk when its not necessary. They have a strong intuition. They areindependent and self-sufficient. They have rich inner lives and they prefer tobe alone most of the time.

Not all introverts are the same. So, to determine which jobis the best for you, you must first know what type of introvert you are.

Here are the four types of introvert according toMyers-Briggs:

INTJ (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging)

INTJs are also known as the Introverts with ExtravertedThinking, Mastermind, or the Scientist. They have a rich inner world andthey are good at strategic planning. They also have plenty of amazing ideas,too. INTJs spend their days observing the world and generating possibilitiesand ideas. They value wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, and competence. Theyhave really high standards at work and in life. Here are the commoncharacteristics of INTJs:

  • They place great value to organization and system. They do notlike messy workspaces and they cant standinefficiency and incompetence.
  • They are independent and decisive.
  • They are logical and rational.
  • They value hard work. INTJs are obsessed with their causes,jobs, and projects.
  • They are efficient and they cannot tolerate laziness.
  • They are rational, but they are also open minded. They are opento new ideas.
  • They are arrogant. They believe that they are better and moreintelligent than the majority. They also have the tendency to put down peoplewho they think are intellectually inferior to them.
  • They are overly analytical and this could potentially lead toanalysis paralysis.
  • Although they like to work alone, theyre not shy. INTJs are deliberate, ambitious, and self-confident.

A lot of INTJs have great minds. Theres also a string ofrespected and famous INTJs including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, StephenHawking, John Nash, John Maynard Keynes, Paul Krugman, Isaac Newton, FriedrichNietzsche, Nikola Tesla, and Bobby Fischer. INTJs are visionaries.

INFJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging)

INFJs are known as the Advocate. They are the mostenigmatic of all the personality types. They are empathic and they are oftenreferred to as Highly Sensitive People.

Here are the common personality traits of INFJs:

  • They are highly sensitive and intuitive.
  • They are good judges of character.
  • They are complex, deep, and intense.
  • Like the INTJs, they also have a rich inner world. They arehighly creative and artistic.
  • Most INFJs are gifted writers.
  • They are good listeners.
  • They have high expectations of others and themselves.
  • They take work, relationships, and commitments very seriously.
  • They are gentle and caring.
  • They like to be alone and they work independently.
  • It often seems like they have psychic abilities. People maythink that they are mind readers because of their strong intuition.
  • They are warm to others. They have sincere concern for others.
  • They are quiet and reserved.
  • They value deep and close relationships.
  • They spend their days thinking about the meaning of life.
  • They have a strong nurturing spirit. They can be good parents.
  • They are secretive and highly private.

Although INFJs are extremely rare. There are also a handfulof famous INFJs including Carl Jung, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, ThomasJefferson, Nelson Mandel, Billy Crystal, Mother Theresa of Calcutta, MahatmaGandhi, Johnny Depp, and Plato.

INFP (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving)

INFPs are known as the Mediator, Healer, and Idealist.They are generally quiet, shy, and reserved but they have that inner passionand fire.

  • They have a strong intuition.
  • Like the INFJs, they are good judges of character.
