He was a really scary one too. No other name in modernhistory conjures up disturbing images like that of Jeffrey Dahmer. Even for aserial killer Dahmer is reviled. Mention his name to anyone and they will mostlikely recoil with horror and indignance . . Known as the MilwaukeeCannibal for his ritualistic dismemberment and cannibalization of his victims, Dahmerterrorized Milwaukee from the late 1970s until he was captured and convicted inthe early 1990s.

A closeted homosexual,Jeffrey struggled with his own sexual identity, hiding his desires from hisdisapproving parents. Many of his victims were homosexual men whom Jeffreymet, had sex with, then murdered . He often had sex with the corpses. Later,Dahmer would do experiments on his victims, to try to keep them around forever. When this failed he would chop them up and cook them. He often kept their heads, and stored them around his apartment.

Dahmer was diagnosed assuffering from borderline personality disorder. Often his world of fantasy andreality blurred as he acted out sexual fantasies involving dominance andcontrol. His victims became tools of his macabre fantasy world, ultimatelyending with death and cannibalism. During his reign ofterror, Dahmer was suspected to be responsible for seventeen deaths and wasconvicted for the murder of fifteen people. If it werent for one victimsescape, who knows how long he would have continued his murder rampage? Dahmer was sentenced tofifteen consecutive life sentences, but was beaten to death with a metal bar ina prison bathroom by a fellow inmate after serving only three years. He waskilled by convicted murderer Christopher Scarver.

According to Scarver,Dahmer had been taunting other inmates by constructing severed limbs out offood and ketchup.
