In between times, however, he taught at Oakland University in Michigan for 28 years and directed several orchestras. He is still music director of the Warren Symphony, also in Michigan, and has guest conducted in Detroit, Boston, Illinois, Michigan, South Carolina, and Venezuela. He received an A.B. degree from Oberlin College, an M.A. in musicology from Boston University, and both an M.F.A. in orchestral literature and conducting from the University of lowa.
