Introduction
In the preface to Saunders Lewis's collected poems, Professor R. Geraint Gruffydd noted his belief that future selections of 'the poems that will continue to be part of the literary heritage of the Welsh during the generations and the centuries to come' would include a very high proportion of the contents of that volume. That is certainly the case with the present book, a selection and translation undertaken to commemorate the centenary year of the poet's birth.
