Zac was 12 years old. He went to school. He played sport like other kids. But Zac had a secret. He was a spy. Zacs code name was Agent Rock Star.
He worked for the spy group GIB. So did his whole family. GIB sent Zac on missions. Sometimes he had to stop the evil spy group BIG from doing bad things. GIB also sent Zac to Spy Camp. It was time for lights out. It was time for lights out.
Zac put his book on the floor. He saw a blinking light under the bed. Zacs spy senses tingled. Theres something there, thought Zac. He jumped up and looked under the bed. There was a message on the handlebars. There was a message on the handlebars.
Youre going to Spy Camp. Zac changed out of his pyjamas. He grabbed the scooter and ran downstairs. GIB need me at Spy Camp, Mum and Dad! called Zac. He ran out the front door and scooted away. Zac sped through the dark streets.
He turned a corner. Spy Camp was up ahead. It was a big silver dome. Zac went inside. There were GIB spies everywhere, even though it was late at night. Zac went to the front desk and picked up his Info-Disk.
Zac pulled out his SpyPad. It was a phone and a mini-computer. Zac used it to send messages. It also had cool things like games and music. Zac put the Info-Disk into his SpyPad. A message popped up.

Desert Base END I wonder why Im trainingwith Agent Top Speed, thought Zac. Agent Top Speed was a Spy Camp trainer. He was much older than Zac. He knew lots about fast vehicles. Zac saw Agent Top Speed coming over. Hi, Agent Top Speed, said Zac.
Please, call me Mick, said Agent Top Speed. Thats like calling my maths teacher by her first name, said Zac. Teachers are also students sometimes, said Mick. I havent done survival training for years. There were doors around the edge of Spy Camp. They led to rooms that had different training gear.
Zac and Mick found the Survival room. They scanned their SpyPads over the lock. The door opened. Zac saw a pair of black goggles on a shelf inside. I know what those are, said Zac.They are Night Specs. They help you see in the dark.
He picked up a pair of Night Specs. They looked like high-tech swimming goggles. There was a small plane at the other end of the room. It was covered in scales. They looked like fish scales. Have you driven one of these? asked Zac.
Not yet, said Mick. Its new. Its called a Flying Fish. The scales are solar panels. Cool, said Zac. Climb in, said Mick.
You can fly. Zac jumped into the pilots seat of the Flying Fish. Mick pressed a button on the wall. A roller door at the back of the room opened. Mick ran over and jumped in behind Zac. Ready? asked Zac.
Sure am, said Mick. Zac pressed some buttons. They moved to the roller door and took off into the sky. Zac steered the Flying Fish towards the Desert Base. It was still dark outside. The computer told Zac where to go.
I saw that youre number one on the Spy Ladder, said Mick. GIB Spies got points for going on missions. They also got points for Spy Camp tests. The spy with the most points went to the top of the Spy Ladder. 1.AGENT ROCK STAR2.AGENT PIZZA BREATH3.AGENT WATER WINGS4.AGENT TECH HEAD SPY LADDER When I was young, I was number one for 20 weeks! said Mick. After flying for awhile, the screen started flashing. DESERT BASE
RUNWAY AHEAD Zac could see the lights on the runway. He lowered the plane and landed without a bump. They stepped outside. Agent Outback was waiting for them. He was an expert in survival skills.
Hello, agents, said Agent Outback. Tonight, youll learn how to survive in the desert. Then at sunrise, youll be tested. But first, I need your SpyPads. Zac and Mick handed over their SpyPads. OK, lets start, said Agent Outback.
Put on your Night Specs so you can see. Zac put his Night Specs on. Wow, thought Zac. He could see everything as bright as day. There were sand dunes all around. There were rocks and some small trees and cactus.
