Coach Success stood outside of his green van. He looked at His watch as he waited for his track team to show up for an intense practice he had planned for them. He had been going over his plan to win an up and coming track meet.
He smiled because at ten minutes to five 'O Clock, the parents cars started pulling into the Recreational Center's
parking lot. All of the kids were self-motivated and just as anxious to get their practice started as the Coach was. They had been taking heed to the Coach's words that, "Practice makes perfect in anything you do in life."
"Greeting Coach S.I How are you doing today Sir?" asked Respectful Robby as he gave Coach a firm handshake , while looking him straight in the eyes. This shows ones confidence.
The rest of the team, Loyal Lonnie, Integrity Ike, Honorable Harry, Responsible Ricky and Honest Henry greeted the Coach the same way as Respectful Robby did with firm handshakes and strong eye contact. Within minutes the team had changed into their black and gold track uniforms. Coach Success was already doing leg stretches.
"Exercise begin! Let's go!" They all kept up with Coach Success as he sounded off the exercise count like a Drill Sergeant in the military.
The Coach was looking for someone to at least frown their face, or huff and puff about the set of exercises to show that they didn't want to the exercise. But like true dedicated students they all stood up tall and straight, ready for any challenge that Coach Success gave them. Nobody made one complaint to coach. He went down the line looking at Loyal Lonnie, Respectful Robby, Honorable Harry, Integrity Ike, Honest Henry and Responsible Ricky in their eyes. They all looked backed as they squatted to the ground and came back up. Responsible Ricky took it upon himself to pump the team up. Hard work! Hard work! Let's go! The only way to win is to get it in! Everybody be sure to keep up! Michelle Obama said it best, 'Let's move' said Coach Success. The team kept up with the Coach. The team was winded but they refused to fall out of line. The Coach Checked his watch and saw they had been exercising for over an hour. "Time Bring it in gentlemen!" The team was relieved to hear those words out of the Coach's mouth.
They all ran off the track over to Coach Success's van. He opened the van's back door and, pulled out his large cooler that he had for the team after the workout. Coach didn't only physically train them he also made sure they were eating healthy. He always packed the cooler with bottle waters and all kinds of fruits like apples, pears, bananas and oranges. Coach always stressed to his team, that your body is like an expensive car. It will only run good as look as you're fueling it with the best gas, and keeping up with the maintenance. So he made sure they did not eat chips and junk food all day. He didn't stop them from eating junk food altogether, he just made sure it was only a few times out of the week. Coach knew that kids had to have some sugar, but only in moderation. Honorable Harry took control of the cooler. He waited for their parents to pick them up.
Once they finished eating all of their fruit and drinking their bottled waters. Responsible Ricky walked around collecting all of the trash .Still full of energy he ran the trash bag to the dumpster.
On the other side of the city, the Morals & Principles Pals arch rivals for the Track Meet were to meet for practice. Their coach 'Under Achiever' had just gotten to the rec's track. He was a half an hour late and his team had yet to show.
After waiting for 15 minutes Coach Under Achieve team began to show up for track practice. Coach Under Achieve didnt care if they were late or not, that would mean less work for him. From the look on Rude Roy, Unreliable Resse, Lazy Levi, Dishonest Dave, and Angry Andres faces, you could tell that their parents forced them to participate. It was no way their parents were going to waste their money, by signing them up for track.
