TABLE OF CONTENTS

The two volumes that comprise this book consist of over 1800 questions. They correspond to the new format of Paper A of the Royal College of Psychiatrists examinations, which has been revised recently. The questions (a mixture of both multiple choice questions [MCQs] as well as extended matching items [EMIs]) have been set so as to reflect the type and the current standard of the questions of the examinations, at the time of writing.

A good proportion of the questions featured in this book have been set so as to model against the core themes that have been commonly tested in the examinations in recent years. A good proportion of the questions are also being set based on the core domains of knowledge assessed in the examination. The authors have provided detailed explanation for each of the questions included in the mock examination paper. Readers are provided with references to which they could refer to, if they are in doubt with regards to any of the theoretical concepts. The format of the mock examination paper has been organized such that at least a third of the questions are EMIs, and the remaining two-thirds are MCQs.

We welcome any feedback from those of you who are using this book. Please also let us know further the type of questions you would like to see in the next edition of this book.

We wish to thank all the authors who have contributed to this revision guide-book and mock examination series.
