CONTENTS
This book consists of over 1000 questions and answers, which are set out as five individual revision mock examination papers. They correspond to the new format of Paper B of the Royal College of Psychiatrists examinations, which has been revised recently. The questions (a mixture of both multiple-choice questions and extended matching items) have been set so as to reflect the type and the standard of the questions of the MRCPsych examination, at the time of writing.
Some of the questions featured in this book have been modeled against the core themes that have been tested in the recent MRCPsych examination. A large proportion of the questions have been set based on recent advances in research, as published in the British Journal of Psychiatry and Advances in Psychiatric Treatment. Unlike other books, the critical appraisal and research methodology and statistics question have been set based on data extracted from papers that the authors have published in high-impact journals. The authors have provided explanation for each of the questions included in the mock examination paper. Readers are provided with references to which they could refer to, if they are in doubt with regard to any of the theoretical concepts. Readers who are preparing for the MRCPsych examination are, however, still encouraged to keep themselves up to date with the latest regulations and guidance issued by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
We welcome any feedback from those of you who are using this book. Please also let us know further type of questions you would like to see in the next edition of this book.
We wish to thank again all the authors who have contributed to this revision guidebook.
