This revised edition is dedicated to my late father, Dick Auerbach. He was an inspiration and always supported my dreams, whether they came true or not.

Original Dedication: To the memories of D. Scott Rogo and Alex Tanous. As a writer, parapsychologist, and friend, Scott had an enormous influence on my professional life, my attitudes toward parapyschology, and my desire to present information to the general public. As a psychic practitioner and as a research participant at the ASPR, Alex, too, had an impact on my professional base. More, though, he somehow led me to experience what people call psychic. You will both be missed.

Preface

When I first published Psychic Dreaming in 1991, it was one of three books subtitled A Parapsychologists Handbook (the other two being ESP, Hauntings and Poltergeists in 1986 and Reincarnation, Channeling and Possession in 1993). All three included extensive background on the history of parapsychology and the state of research at the time, as well as appendices that took readers to a variety of other parapsychological resources. They were intended to be something different from the book you now hold in your hands (or on your eReader).
