Hi guys!
Lauren here! Last week I realised it has been about a year since I posted the final chapter of Cupid's Match on Wattpad! And today we hit 23 million reads!!! So I wanted to give you an anniversary / thank you present for being so awesome and supportive of Cupid's Match!
I've made a little collection of chapters from male perspectives from the Cupids Matchmaking Service books!
I've written 2 key scenes from Cupid's Match (1 from Cupid's POV, 1 from Cal's POV), I've recycled 2 chapters I'd already written from male POVs from the two Cupid's Match spin-offs (I know not all of you have read them yet so I thought I'd stick them in here!) and I've written another CUPID POV that you guys asked me to write!.
In each one I set the scene, give you a few lines from the original character's POV (if appropriate), then we launch into the male POV!
I originally only made these available for my Wattpad followers (there are Cupid's Match spoilers in the newly written scenes and I don't want to ruin it for anyone who may want to read it but hasn't yet!) - but some people still had technical difficulties reading them so I've just changed it so everyone can read!
However if you HAVEN'T read Cupid's Match there are some massive SPOILERS! So be warned!
If you want to follow me anyway for more cupid chaos(!) you can click on my username here (LEPalphreyman ) - my pic should come up with a follow button for you to press - or by going onto my profile and clicking follow there.
I hope you like them!
If you enjoy these let me know in the final chapter and we'll make some more!
1. CUPID: The Terrace (NEW!)
The scene from Cupid's Match where Cupid has a party from Cupid's POV. He waits for Lila on the terrace. She thinks he is dangerous. There is chemistry when they meet.
2. CAL: The School Dance (NEW!)
The scene from Cupid's Match where the characters go to the school dance from Cal's POV. Lila is hit by an arrow during an attack. She dances with Cal.
3. MINO: The Ripper (RECYCLED chapter - first chapter of The Minotaur spin off)
The first chapter of the Minotaur spin-off. Set in 1888 a couple of weeks after Crystal visits the Minotaur in Cupid's Match- Mino has a confrontation with Cal. If you're already reading the spin-off skip this chapter!
4: KLAUS : The Pancake Date (RECYCLED chapter - bonus chapter from Bad Santa originally posted on Valentine's Day)
Continuation of Charlie and Klaus' rooftop date from Bad Santa (Cupid's Match Winter Special) from Klaus' POV. Things get a bit steamy over pancakes! If you already read the bonus chapter I posted on Valentine's Day skip this chapter!
SUGGESTIONS for future chapters
Want me to write another scene from one of the boy's POVs? Let me know in the comments of the final chapter! :D
WHAT NEXT? Vote for your faves!
I've made a list of some of the most popular suggestions for the next POV chapter I should write. Look through the list and vote for your favourite. Suggestions with the highest number of votes will be written next!
5: CUPID : The Match is Made (NEW! And chosen by YOU!)
Cupid realises his feelings for Lila have grown too strong. They have their forbidden kiss in the rain.
Lots and lots of love!
Lauren
Setting the scene:
This is the scene where Cupid throws a party at his house. Lila thought he hit a boy from school with the Ardor arrow (who later threw themselves off the roof) but - despite Cal's efforts - she still finds herself drawn to Cupid. She's angry with him, though, and goes to confront him about what happened.
They meet on the terrace and you're about to read the scene from Cupid's point of view!
Extract from Cupid's Match (LILA POV)
I notice the large, unlit terrace gracefully extended from the first storey. It reaches out over the pool area. On it a solitary male figure stands. He leans against the black patterned fence which runs along the outside of it as though he is surveying the scene below. My stomach clenches. Even though his face is part hidden in shadow, I know immediately who it is.
It's Cupid.
As I watch he slowly turns his gaze away from the pool and up to the top of the hill. I feel his eyes settle on me. He jerks his head backwards as I look up at him. It's a subtle movement; anyone else watching may just have thought it a trick of the light. But I know what he is silently communicating to me.
He wants me to come to the terrace.
He wants to speak with me.
CUPID POV:
I came here to find her.
I look out over the balcony, letting the cool breeze swallow me. It brings with it then scent of fall mixed with beer and perfume from the party below. My eyes search through the crowds, spotlighted by my decorative lanterns and pool lights.
Anticipation races through my veins. My heart burns. My skin is alight.
She's not here yet. But she will come. She has to come.
The match must be made.
As I wait I spot Cal striding through my grounds, the permanent scowl fixed onto his face. Seeing him in class the other day was the first time I'd set eyes on him in a long while. He hasn't changed at all. The corner of my lip quirks upwards.
"I don't recall inviting you, brother," I whisper into the darkness.
I watch as he disappears into the house.
He's trying to find her too. He will do anything to stop me. But she will come to me not him. My soul calls out to her. I feel it.
And so I stay where I am, looking out over the grounds below, and I wait.
Not long after Cal's arrival I catch a movement out of the corner of my eye. I look towards the top of Juliet Hill. There are two female figures there, masked in darkness. I step toward the black railings, my bare feet cool as they touch the ground. The figures move into the light and my breath catches in my throat.
One of them is her.
"Lila," I whisper.
Almost as if she hears me she jerks her head upwards. Though the terrace I stand upon is shrouded with shadow I feel her eyes on me; they hold me in place, burn me, torture me.
Can I really do this to her?
She doesn't know, yet, what her future will hold. She doesn't know what it means to be matched with someone like me. But I do.
There will be pain, and death, and heartbreak.
Cal thought he could hide her from me. But she is my match. I knew it from the first moment I set eyes on her.
And together we will save the world. Or we will destroy it.
I keep my eyes on her. She is beautiful. Casually dressed, her hair long and dark slightly messy and tumbling down her bare shoulders. Her eyes shine like beacons in the darkening air. Subtly I move my head backwards telling her to come to me.
Her eyes linger on me for a moment longer, then she drags her gaze away and makes her way down the hill. She doesn't look up again.
Is she coming?
It would be better for her if she didn't. A part of me battles within it tells me to walk away from here, to never come back.
You will doom this girl if you continue down this path.
But then I think of the way her fingers brushed against mine when she passed me the pen at school. I think of the fire in her eyes when she saw me at the Love Shack holding the torture arrow. Her soul calls out to me in a way I never thought was possible.
