A Perfect Tour of the Turkish Coast
Days 14
North Aegean
Pick up a hire car in stanbul, drive to Gallipoli, spending the night in Kocadere. The next day, finish touring the peninsula's World War I battlefields, crossing to anakkale for lunch. Drive to Troy in the early afternoon, then cross to Bozcaada for a swim and overnight. Return to the mainland, arriving at Assos for lunch and visiting the ancient acropolis. Continue to Ayvalik or Cunda for dinner and hotel. In the morning, continue to Pergamon's acropolis and Asklepion, lunching at Foa en route to Alaati.
On to Ephesus
After a morning swim at Altinkum, take the coastal road directly to Kuadasi, for a two-night stay there, Seluk or irince village. Spend the afternoon at ancient Ephesus and the Seluk museum.The next day drive to Pamukkale, aiming to get there for the late afternoon light.
