Foreword
Were all on a journey to become who we truly areour strongest, bravest, truest selves. This journey isnt always a smooth or easy one. Many of us have years, or even decades, of lessons to unlearnabout accepting less than we deserve, being good instead of speaking up, seeing ourselves as less than, simply because people have treated us that way for so long.
In my own journey to uncover who I truly am, and to findand usemy voice for what I believe in, Ive been lucky enough to meet many kindred spirits along the way, many of them online. Marc and Angel are among the fellow travelers Ive come to value the most. Their honesty and clarity, and the generous way they share what theyve learned, are gifts Ive truly cherished. Sharing their ideas with others online is a way of paying forward what Ive learned, in the hope that others will gain some insight and strength, and in turn spread the word even further. The pain of self-doubt and the isolation of modern life can make us feel like were the only ones struggling, while everyone else is picture-perfect. Thats why its so important to share not just our triumphs but also our setbacks, to show our work when were in the thick of tough times. Marc and Angel do just thatkeeping it real, and creating a community of kindred spirits that gathers together in strength, growing and learning along the way.
Life is always going to throw us curveballssurprises and setbacks we didnt see coming. Jaw-dropping, momentum-crushing moments that make you question everything youve worked so hard to achieve, as well as flat gray days when the light just wont shine in. But theres always a way forward. With the help of Marc and Angels hard-won insights, we can always find a way to pick ourselves up, reframe our mindset to see the bigger picture, and take that first step back to happy. It isnt always easy, and you might ruffle some feathers among those who arent used to seeing you stand up for yourself. But the inner strength to move forward toward truth and light is a muscle each one of us has. Use it. Own it. And help others do the same. Were all in this togetherbut we have to take that first step on our own. Pass it on.
