Preface

I became interested in the health industry over 30 years ago when I was working with children who were suffering from spinal misalignments. I was helping them by providing exercise programs that were both therapeutic and corrective for their condition. This was a natural outgrowth from the expertise I developed in Poland while I was studying for my masters degree in Human Movement from the Warsaw University of Physical Education. I felt an overwhelming sense of compassion towards these children, who were victims of circumstances well beyond their control.

This original focus on children became an ever-expanding circle of compassion that I wanted to extend to people of all ages, from all walks of life. As I continued to study and learn about what contributes most to human health and vitality, I kept discovering that the approaches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda resonated most deeply with me. I believe that this was due to the way those modalities see emotional, spiritual, and physical health as being inseparably interwoven. My compassion towards others is fuelled by what all of us want most in life: to be happy! The more I studied, the more I came to realise that the anti-aging and longevity secrets of the Ancients are the surest path to a happier life for everyone.

After moving to Australia, I opened a day spa, which is now known as Joannas Beauty Slimming & Acupuncture Clinic, located in Lutwyche, Brisbane, Queensland. I believe it is quite unique. I combine and overlap health and beauty treatments using a holistic approach that goes much further than only skin deep.

I use techniques that go far beyond treating only outward symptoms to address what are often internal problems caused by imbalance and disharmony.

Some of my qualifications include:

  • Five postgraduate certifications in constitutional facial renewal acupuncture from Mary Elizabeth Wakefield and MichelAngelo
  • Certified in Acutonics vibration medicine and aesthetic therapy
  • Member of the Australian Acupuncture &
    Chinese Medicine Association Ltd
  • Member of the Australasian branch of the Toyohari Medical Association of Japan

My goal in writing this series of books is to share with you the anti-aging and longevity secrets of the Ancients that will bring you the glow of youth and the wisdom of the ages, and nurture you to total wellness and optimal alignment.
