Biography

I am a Freelance international professional stylist. whose journey started when I completed my NVQ

Level 2 Certification in the UK.

I owned and managed staff in a quaint, Boutique salon but knew the world was waiting for me.

I now visit clients in their homes,hotels when on holiday and I partner with different salons and stylists.

My Style is more for the Male or Female who has had enough of the run of the mill hairstyles and lives to stand

out from the crowd!! A lil bit retro/vintage.!!!! With 15 years experience in hairdressing.

I take great pride in my work and provide Afro and European Hairstyles and Hair Treatments. Along with services such as:

WHAT IS HAIR?

Hair is a tough protein called keratin
A hair follicle is at the end of each strand and is embedded in a bulb that connects it to the skin within your scalp. Hair growth begins inside the bulb, (the only living part!) and the bulb contains the cells that provide the hair shaft.

As time goes by, more and more hair products hit the shelves and the advertising gets fancier and fancier.
Enticing us to buy the latest potions.

The bigger the range of products available, the more products we try until our cabinets look like a shop!

What about if you just kept it simple and targeted the areas that needed treating beforehand.
By all means do your research and find the styling products best suited to your hair type.
But sometimes take it back to Nature with some Natural ingredients!!!

Andre Walker System

According to the Andre walker system which is used widely to identify hair types.

There are 4 types of hair.
I have compiled a table below so that you can identify your hair and use the right natural treatment recommended.

TYPE 1-STRAIGHT HAIR

REFLECTS THE MOST
SHEEN.
MOST RESILIENT.
DIFFICULT TO CURL.
MOST OILY HAIR TEXTURE.

TYPE 2 -WAVY HAIR

TEXTURE RANGES
BETWEEN STRAIGHT AND
CURL.
MORE LIKELY TO FRIZZ

TYPE 3-CURLY HAIR

HAIR RESEMBLES A S-SHAPE
VOLUMINOUS.
MORE LIKELY TO GET FRIZZY
AND DAMAGE PRONE.
LACK OF CARE CAUSES LESS
DEFINED CURLS.

TYPE 4 -KINKY HAIR

TIGHTLY COILED CURL
PATTERN.
FRAGILE WITH HIGH
DENSITY.
SHRINKS WHEN WET.
MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO
DAMAGE.

Within these hair types there are sub sections defined by numbers. Why not take some time to find out your exact hair type by asking your hairstylist or by doing some research.
After all you are your best subject and doing some homework is the only way that you will be able to identify what is the best natural treatment for your haircare!

HAIR STRANDS

Each strand of your hair makes up the general type of hair you have . That being said, some people have different types of hair on their head and sometimes find it difficult to style their hair as desired .
The list below will give you an idea of the type of hair the majority of your head holds.
This combined with the Andre Walker System from the previous page will determine what Natural treatments your hair can handle.

Fine

Thin strands that sometimes are almost translucent when held up to the light.
Shed strands can be hard to see even against a contrasting background.
Fine hair is difficult to feel or it feels like an ultra-fine strand of silk.

Medium

Strands are neither fine nor coarse.Medium hair feels like a cotton thread, but isn't stiff or rough.
