The support of numerous people was critical in completing this text. Sheri W. Sussman, acquisitions editor at Springer, is an enjoyable person to work with. I also thank the counselors who wrote the Spotlights and put a human face on the various counseling careers. Finally, I wish to thank my spouse, Shoshanna, for all her encouragement through the peaks and valleys that professional writing involves.
