Geography/layout
The Hawaiian Islands are made up of eight main islands. From east to west: Hawaii (commonly called the Big Island or Hawaii Island), Maui, Kahoolawe Lanai, Molokai, Oahu, Kauai and Niihau. All but Kahoolawe, once used for military target practice, are inhabited. Really, there are many, many more. The island chain stretches approximately 1,500 miles (2,400km) and includes 137 islands.
