menswear dog presents the new classics Fresh Looks for the Modern Man david fung & yena kim INTRODUCTION The idea for Menswear Dog came about very simply. In January 2013, we snapped a photo of our handsome Shiba Inu, Bodhi, in a chunky shawl-collar cardigan and posted the photo to Facebook, thinking wed elicit a few giggles. This one photo of our dog got more likes from our friends and family than we had ever gotten on both of our accounts combined. Invigorated by this pet project (lame pun intended), we put together a Tumblr blog with a few more photos of our canine dressed to impress and unleashed it for the world to see. The site took off, and our in-box started to fill with notifications as Bodhis pictures were shared all over the Internet by pet lovers and fashionistas alike. What began as an inside joke was being seen by tens of thousands of people.

It was a simple concept, executed a thousand times over by every weird pet owner with a little too much time on their hands. So what made people sit up and pay attention this time around? Credit where credits due, Bodhi is a lookerwith a piercing gaze, a glistening wet nose, and a smile that could light up Broadway, all he needed was some peanut butter to realize his true calling. His personality comes through in every photo, and he has a natural ability to sense which poses to strike and how to work every angle. Bodhis innate modeling talents brought new life to something we already loved and obsessed over: menswear. We decided to put our years of design experience (in fashion and graphic design, respectively) into an intimate menswear photo projectwe figured if nothing else, it would make a great story. What started as a parody is now the real deal.

Menswear Dog has become a unique avenue to showcase mens fashion in an unexpected yet approachable way (after all, if a dog can pull it off, you can too).
