Heidi and I wish there had been a book like this when we started our marriage! This book is unique because it comes from a fathers heart for his son and daughter-in-law. This isnt someone spouting off random marriage advice. Its a family discussion of love, intimacy, and marriage, and we get to sit in and listen.
Randy Jumper, young adult pastor, First Assembly of God, North Little Rock, AR
As a marriage and family therapist, I often help young couples adjust their expectations early in marriage. In After the Honeymoon, Rod Loy addresses many of the fundamental struggles discovered by newlyweds. This scripturally based, practical approach to an important marital season is both clinically sound and thoroughly applicable.
Dr. Ryan Darrow, lead pastor, Overland Park First Assembly of God, Overland Park, KS, marriage and family therapist
In a day and age where marriage is increasingly devalued, Rod Loy addresses foundational truths that will strengthen couples who are newly married (and those who have been married a while). This book needs to be read and reread by every newlywed couple in order to establish stability and health early on in the marriage.
Aaron Hlavin, lead pastor, Freedom Christian, Sterling Heights, MI
The wisdom and honor Pastor Rod imparts transcends the beginning of a marriage. These are timeless truths that cultivate a healthy life-long commitment, and apply to every age and season of each unique marriage. The spiritual and physical union of two individuals becoming one in Christ is a sacred trust that must be tended to and invested for the rest of life. Applying these powerful principles will strengthen your marital union and leave a legacy to be passed on for generations to come.
Jennifer McAfee, lead pastor, Villages Community, Fort Worth, TX
Anything that comes from Rod Loys deep well of wisdom is bound to be a lasting treasure in my library. Like everything else Rod offers, you will find this book to be a great resource to serve the church for generations. Full of practical wisdom, humor, and vulnerability, his writing offers the insights he gave to his son Tyler and daughter-in-law, Emilie. Any couple who reads it will be better for it.
Mike Burnette, lead pastor, LifePoint Church, Clarksville, TN

This book is dedicated to my wife, Cindy, and our two sons, Tyler and Parker.
With laughter, joy, and a few tears, Cindy and I have learned these lessons together. I look forward to many more years of learning!
It was Tyler and Emilies wedding that inspired me to write these words of advice. Watching them grow closer to God and to each other is a source of great joy.
Just before this book went to press, my younger son, Parker, got engaged. He and Meredith will be married in 2016. Im glad these words are already written for them!
Thank you all for filling my life with meaningful memories and abundant joy. I love you and Im proud of you!

Oops! The book you are holding in your hand is an accident. Before you put it down, let me explain
I love being a dad! Watching my sons Tyler and Parker grow in maturity has been one of lifes greatest joys. A new phase began for all of us last year when Tyler met and fell in love with Emilie Bullock. He proposed, and Emilie accepted.
As Tyler and Emilies wedding date approached, I wanted to pass along important lessons and key principles my wife, Cindy, and I have learned during our twenty-seven-year marriage. No marriage is perfect, but ours has been pretty wonderful. Each morning I wrote a thought for that day and posted it on Facebook.
