Marty Matthews has used computers for many years, as a programmer, analyst, manager, and executive. As a result, he has firsthand knowledge of how to make the most of a computer and its software, including Quicken, which he has used since its earliest days.

Also for many years, Marty and his wife Carole have been writing books on the use of computers, including ones on desktop publishing, web publishing, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft operating systemsfrom MS-DOS through Windows 7. Recent books published by McGraw-Hill include Windows 7 QuickSteps, Microsoft Office 2010 QuickSteps, and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 QuickSteps.

Marty and Carole are principals in Matthews Technology, a firm dedicated to making technology easy through books, articles, websites, and consulting. Bobbi Sandberg is an accountant and technical writer currently working in and enjoying the Pacific Northwest. A popular speaker and trainer, she has used and taught Quicken since its debut in the 80s. She is the author of Quicken 2011: The Official Guide and she has co-authored with her colleagues at Matthews Technology Quicken 2007 QuickSteps and Microsoft Office Access 2007 QuickSteps.

She is known as the person who can make computer software understandable. One of her recent students said, Now I can easily track my finances and before, I couldnt comfortably balance my checkbook. Bobbi combines her ability to explain complex concepts in plain language with her in-depth understanding of computers and accounting to make using financial software as easy as writing a check. Mary Higgins is a long-time Quicken user, having used each version since 1999. She enjoys pushing the limits of what the software is intended to doclicking every button, navigating every menu path, reading the help files, etc. She reads and posts on the Quicken forums and finds it interesting to see how others are using Quicken and the different approaches to resolving issues.
