Introduction

Firstly, I would like to thank you for deciding to get this book. I hope that you find all of the information within helpful and informative. Throughout this book we will be talking about marijuana and how to properly grow and cure it.

It doesnt matter if you call it marijuana, cannabis, pot, or weed because it all has the same history of human use. For the ancient cultures, they didnt use marijuana recreationally. Instead, they used it for herbal medicine. This would have likely started in Asia at around 500 BCE. The history of US use of cannabis dates all the way back to the early colonist who would grow it to make rope and textiles.

Throughout this book we are going to go over how you can grow cannabis for whatever reason you want. We will first go over the life cycle of a marijuana plant. This is going to discus all of the changes that the plant goes through before you can harvest anything.

Then we will go over the different strains of cannabis. This will discuss how to spot the difference between Indica and Sativa, and well explore several different varieties of wee and how they can affect the body.

Next, we will start to discuss the seeds and how to get them ready for growing and planting. For the most part, the germination process is going to require you to soak the seeds in water for an extended period of time. After that, you will get to plant them.

After that, we will look at the vegetative growth cycle of the cannabis plant. This is going to be a very in-depth look at what you should expect to happen to your plant during this growing stage, as well as what you plants will need from you and mother nature during this time.

Then, we will talk about the cloning process. Cloning has become very popular, especially if you are interested in keeping a cannabis plant growing at all times. As you will soon find out, you wont have to have a male plant close by, so cloning is the next best thing to simply starting a brand new plant.

After that, we will discuss the flowering stage of the cannabis plant. This is the part that everybody looks forward to, but you cant harvest it just yet. Here we will look at what the plant is going to need from you so that they produce some of the best buds.

The following two chapters will go over the harvesting, drying, and curing process. This is likely one of the most important parts and is something you cant simple skip. It is going to seem like a long time, but it will definitely be worth the wait.

Then we will discuss the best ways to grow your cannabis plants indoors. Throughout the next three chapters, we will start looking at the different aspects of keeping a cannabis garden inside of your house and what will be required to grow healthy plants.

Next, we will go over how to grow your cannabis plants outside. This is going to add in additional issues like pests and unpredictable weather. Dont worry, though, we will talk about how to deal with all of that.

Lastly, we will wrap the book up by learning how to breed your plants. This works a lot like the cloning process, but it a bit more advance. Dont worry if you think it sounds to hard because you dont have breed your plants unless you just really want to. It is still interesting to learn about.

Chapter 1: The Life of Cannabis

It could be a bit confusing when you begin growing marijuana especially when you have no idea what to expect. You think you have been doing everything just right but when you harvest, you dont get as much as you thought you would. Maybe you need to learn a bit mite about the life cycle of cannabis so you will be able to grow the best crop possible.

Marijuana plants go through a lot during their lifetime. There are going to be some major milestones and when you become familiar with these, you will be able to take care of your plants better. You will be able to see any health problem if they come up before it harms the plants.

Once you know the best-case scenario, you will be able to see the problem and fix it immediately. But there might be times when you hit a problem that you just wont be able to fix.

You might have a plant that wont grow no matter what you do but knowing exactly what to expect wont hurt. You will be able to see how much of a difference a couple of weeks will make. Once you are prepared for all stages of the plants lifecycle by learning about all its behaviors and needs, you will have an abundant crop. Lets begin by looking at the history of marijuana.

History

Marijuana plants just like wheat and corn have been around for a very long time. Just how long? Well, try about 12,000 years.

Records at a Neolithic archaeological site in China show that the Chinese knew about marijuana between 4000 and 10000 years ago. Within this time period, legend states that Shennong, an emperor, found and began using the marijuana plant for health and psychoactive benefits along with using it to make textiles.

The legend states that Shennong used parts of the marijuana plant to make tea. He recommended this tea to be used to treat over 100 different afflictions. Some of these health problems were absentmindedness, malaria, rheumatism, and gout.

Lets fast forward a bit and we will find a record from about 3500 years ago that Egyptians knew about and used marijuana to treat different maladies such as hemorrhoids and glaucoma.

Farther on down the line about 1000 BCE, the people in India started using marijuana in a drink they called Bhang. This gave them relief from decreased appetite, digestive problems, phlegm, sunstroke, dysentery, fever, and anxiety.
