The thought of a homemade meal cooked from scratch sounds lovely if only I had time! Who knew that it was possible to become so busy that one would forget to cook or simply be too exhausted to hover over pots that never seem to empty? The traditional lifestyle of cooking fresh foodsstraight from the garden to the kitchenseems like a fantasy in my fast-paced urban lifestyle; I know I am not the only one who feels this way. As many mothers enter the corporate environment and fill up 9-to-5 jobs, no one is left at home to prepare home-cooked meals that simmer for hours in a pot. Even for a foodie like myself, I find it nearly impossible to whip up delicious meals made from scratch while tending to my four children and answering a days worth of emails in the evenings. For many years, I settled for unhealthy takeout meals that would appease the children and afford me the much needed time to work on other essential tasks. However, these quick and greasy takeout dinners were simply not sustainable in the long run for the health and well-being of my family. I knew that I had to find another convenient alternative that would meet all of my culinary and lifestyle needs.
Christmas came around, and guess what I received from my dear husband? An Instant Vortex Air Fryer oven with a note, This might be what you were looking for. I did not know what to expect as I unwrapped this elegant and professional kitchen gadget. I realized that it was a modern rendition of an air fryer produced by one of my favorite brands, the Instant Pot. I should have known that any kitchen tool manufactured by Instant Pot would be phenomenal; however, I wanted to find out for myself. The first time I used my Instant Vortex Air Fryer was for a Sunday roast dinner. The Air Fryer assumed the role of kitchen chef, and this allowed me to take time out to read a book while the machine did all the work. This multifunctional appliance gave me the option of air frying, baking, roasting, broiling, reheating, dehydrating, and rotisserie cooking my food to make a fantastic dinner.
The Modern Womans Take on Fried Foods
Before I had my air fryer, there was only one method I knew of frying foods, and that was by using a deep fryer. Due to the amount of saturated oil used up in the processing, I rarely prepared fried foods for my family. This idea all changed when I started making delicious fried foods using my air fryer. It replaced hot oil with circulating hot air to produce the same crunchy flavor and texture found in most deep-fried foods. I was surprised when I realized the cooking power of my air fryer. It carries more power than many of the other air fryers in the market, and it can cook batches of frozen or store-bought foods evenly and quickly.
It Has a Spacious Basket
One of the most significant pitfalls to many air fryers is the size of the food basket; most air fryers only have enough space for two chicken breasts or a few servings of fries. The Instant Vortex Air Fryer has double the amount of space. On many occasions, I have been able to air fry a whole chicken, helping me get food on the table a lot faster.
It Has a User-Friendly Interface
The Instant Vortex Air Fryer reminded me a lot of the Instant Pot; however, the Instant Vortex is a lot easier to learn. It has four pre-programmed settingsair fry, bake, roast, and reheatsimilar to the Instant Pots seven pre-programmed settings. The dial in the middle of the screen gives me the option of adjusting the temperature in five-degree intervals. Better yet, the text is large enough for me to navigate the machine easily.

1 strip bacon, diced
1 slice 1-inch thick bread
1 egg
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
cup grated Colby cheese
  1. Set the temperature of the air fryer oven to 400F (204C). Press Start to begin preheating.
  2. Air fry the bacon in the air fryer oven for 3 minutes, shaking the perforated pan once or twice while it cooks. Remove the bacon to a paper towel lined plate and set aside.
  3. Use a sharp paring knife to score a large circle in the middle of the slice of bread, cutting halfway through, but not all the way through to the cutting board. Press down on the circle in the center of the bread slice to create an indentation.
