James D. Miller is an IBM Certified Expert, Master Consultant, and application/system architect with over 35 years of applications and system design/development experience across multiple platforms, technologies, and data formats, including big data. His experience includes IBM Planning Analytics, BI, web architecture/design, systems analysis, GUI design/testing, data modeling, and OLAP design/development. He has also worked on client/server, web, and mainframe applications. He has authored numerous books, including Implementing Splunk, Second Edition; Mastering Splunk, Hands-On Machine Learning with IBM Watson, Watson Projects, Statistics for Data Science, and Mastering Predictive Analytics with R, Second Edition.

Laks Ganesan is a Splunk Certified Architect and Consultant with hands-on experience in Splunk Core, Enterprise Security, and User Behavior Analytics. He is an active member of the Splunk community and has been recognized by Splunk as a SplunkTrust member for his contributions. He holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and has worked across the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia for a number of global customers in various consulting roles.

Tom Kopchak is the director of technical operations and a Splunk implementation engineer at Hurricane Labs. A 2020 inductee to the SplunkTrust and a Splunk Certified Architect and Consultant, he has extensive experience designing and managing Splunk deployments as well as developing Splunk training materials. His speaking experience includes talks at Splunk .conf, DEFCON, and other conferences around the United States. He holds a master's degree in computing security from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and he volunteers as a competition director for the National Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC). When he is not working, he enjoys composing, music improvisation, and playing both the piano and organ.
