As we said in the introduction, successful people do not reach their goals alone. Over the course of our lives weve had some great mentors.

Ken would like to acknowledge and give praise to some of his key mentors:

Norman Vincent Peale, for teaching him what true faith was all about; Paul Hersey, for encouraging him to write; Warren Ramshaw and Don McCarty, for guiding him through his graduate studies; Ted and Dorothy Blanchard, for teaching him about love and serving others; Sandy Blanchard, for compelling him to always be his best; Scott and Debbie Blanchard, for teaching him about his leadership and how he can help people win; Paul Ryan, for pushing him to be his best through basketball; Tony Robbins, for teaching him about the power of your mind and the thoughts you put into it; Pat Lencioni, Tommy Spaulding, and Jon Gordon, for being open to Kens experience and wisdom and in the process teaching him what they had learned.

Claire would like to acknowledge and give praise to:

Laura Selznick and Carolyn Springer, who walked her through the early years of finding her place in a world of opportunities; Pamela Hartigan, Sammy Ikua, Sally Osberg, Jeff Skoll, and John Wood, who served as guiding lights on the road to social entrepreneurship; Biz Stone and the team at Twitter, for opening the doors to Silicon Valley and teaching her about a then-new world; Bob Goff, Nancy Duarte, Adam Grant, Pam Slim, and Greg McKeown, for setting purposeful entrepreneurial examples to lean into; Anne Lamott, Martha Lawrence, and Don Miller, for thoughts on writing, near and far; Ken Blanchard, for teaching her what it means to serve others with your own success; Barbara and Lance Williams, for many things, but mostly, the burritos.

Wed also like to thank our editors, Henry Ferris, Martha Lawrence, and Renee Broadwell; our agents, Richard Andrews and Esther Fedorkevich; Alais L. M. Griffin, general counsel at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America; Margery Allen, Kens executive assistant, right arm and truth teller; and all the sharp-eyed readers at the Skaneateles Country Club.

Finally, wed like to thank our spouses, Margie Blanchard and Jose Diaz-Ortiz, for always being there for us.
