PREFACE

We are what we see, because the world outside of us can have infinite ways of interpreting. For example, a picture of Jimmy Chua may elicit different emotions; some see his picture will feel that he is HAPPY. Some say it is not possible to be ALWAYS HAPPY, he is faking it! So who is RIGHT, everyone is RIGHT, because we are always RIGHT and others are WRONG.

So this book: HAPPY WAYS OF SEEING THE WORLD will focus on pictures taken by JIMMY CHUA himself, so there are no copyright issues. And 1 photo (appearing twice) in this book is taken by my friends BRANKO and TANJA in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND to illustrate that we can receive help from others too! Actually, it is just an illustrative tool that we can see the BRIGHT SIDE of EVERYTHING IF WE CHOOSE TO DO SO, so sit back and enjoy.

Have you heard of A PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS? Yes, indeed, because there are so many ways that you can interpret a picture that by hearing what others describe to you, you are still unable to draw the same picture being described.

What comes to my mind is the picture of the elephant and 5 blind men were asked to touch different parts of the elephant, one touches the legs, one touches the big ears, one touches the trunk (nose of elephant), one touches the body and the last one touches the tail. Each of them believes they are right and indeed they are RIGHT. However, they only see a part of the whole thing, thus to see the whole thing together, perhaps we should combine what we know to form a more accurate picture. A HAPPY WAY OF SEEING THIS ELEPHANT IS THAT IT SHOWS US THAT WE CAN ALL BE RIGHT AT THE SAME TIME, WHY LET OTHERS DECIDE FOR US, SIMPLY BECAUSE OUR ANSWER MAY BE DIFFERENT FROM THE REST.

Now sit back, relax and let JIMMY CHUA use his imagination to show you how any picture he has chosen in this book can incorporate HAPPY WAYS OF SEEING THE WORLD.

We can always choose to see the glass as half empty or half full, both views are RIGHT, it is your view that matters. I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY!

And this book is written to serve a PURPOSE, lets us ALL TRY TO RELAX, SMILE and SEE THE WORLD with HAPPY WAYS! OUR CHOICE!

You can try from start to end, but I will recommend you to try flipping to any page. Treat it as a piece of ART, you may not be able to understand anything but the key message is this: HAPPY WAYS OF SEEING THE WORLD starts from YOU!

HAPPINESS IS eating fruits as it give me vitamins and nutrients, especially good as a snack as it is natural!

Dragon Fruits on the left and Avocados on the right. One comes from MALAYSIA and the other from MEXICO! It is always a blessing for us to enjoy the different fruits that comes from different countries around the world. It also enables us to have a big variety of fruits as the climate and seasons varies in different locations. It is how amazing trade can help facilitate and let us share the fruits of others with one another! HAPPY WAY OF SEEING THIS IS THAT AS LONG AS WE ARE GOOD IN PRODUCING WHAT OTHER NEEDS, we can always exchange. SIMPLE WAY OF LOOKING AT HOW TRADE BENEFITS ALL OF US!

HAPPINESS IS TRULY something we give to others AND unexpectedly returned to us!

I have used these 2 pictures in my book HAPPY GO LUCKY. I was a MILITARY POLICEMAN in the SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES and it was a DREAM COME TRUE when I was assigned to ride the HONDA CBX 750 POLICE BIKE to escort the President and have a truly fun time in that role! (THE REST ARE CLASSIFIED HAHA)
