First and foremost, this book could not have happened without my beautiful, supportive, and ever enthusiastic taste-testing family allowing me days of isolation for writing. My husband, Derrick, who I forced to find words to describe every bite, LMAO. I know I annoyed you so much during the process of this book. My babies, Love Lee and King-Elias, you are the reason WHY I do anything. Always remember you can achieve anything you put your minds to and never care what others have to say! Your love for food, spice, and cruelty-free ingredients have constantly pushed me for greatness. You are the future, and the future is looking bright based on your compassion and knowledge of integrity, food, and our planet.
Thank you to my father, Wayne Duplechan, for instilling in me the gifts of creativity, discipline, and self-love. Our spirits are always connected, and your wisdom is so rare to find. Thank you Mom, Migdalia Tirado, for giving me the passion for cooking.
My siblings that have been so encouraging: Seranequia (my official pound cake tester); Enoch, the best big brother; Naomi, my ride-or-die little sis; and Israel, aka Izzy-Iz, thanks for always cleaning out my refrigerator LOL.
Thank you to all my family members from my Tirado and Duplechan sides, who have always thought of me as being greater than I am. You make me live up to the hype. (LOL) Thank you for your input on Duplechan family history, recipes, and your loving support: Uncle Danny and Auntie Tonya, Kelly Dixon, Auntie Hester, Desiree Duplechan, DJ Duplechan, and Sir Daniel, Sir Doyle, Davina, and the entire Duplechan tribe. You helped me out so much when I was overthinking every tiny detail. Your support is always appreciated.
Danielle Frost, thank you for being the wisest voice of reason. You have always been the closest family member to support me and youve help push me past my fears and anxiety. Thank you for always having my back and for being the worlds greatest sister.
Pamela Mima Paul, Fredrick Pop Pop and Louella Gi Gi Morgan, thank you for always holding down your grandbabies and Derrick and I.

Trinity Weathersby, thank you lil sis for being such a supportive friend. You are always the first to be there whenever I need anything. A true friend.
Thank you to one of the best in the industry, Andrea Andy Barzvi. You are an agent with strength, knowledge, and persistence. Thank you for teaching me about the publishing world (and sooo much more) and seeing the project the WHOLE way through and being there, even if I just needed a wise opinion. You are truly not the typical agent. I value you beyond words.
My Clarkson Potter family that has made my dreams come true: Raquel Pelzel, you saw something in me, reached out, and believed in me as a first-time author. I thank you so much for listening to your inner voice and sending that email to me. Your integrity in the food space and fine skill of paying attention to detail is such a value to every book you touch. Marysarah Quinn, you are the most amazing art director and magician! You made this book a piece of art that I will hold to my heart for eternity. Thank you for all of your hard work in making this a creative, modern cookbook. I couldnt have done this without the rest of the Potter team: editorial MVP Bianca Cruz; Kate Tyler and Kristin Casemore, for handling PR like pros; and the best marketing team in the game, Windy Dorrestyn and Monica Stanton. I am honored to have rock-star women like you on my team. There are many background players who I did not communicate much with but who helped to bring this book to life. THANK YOU.
James Wilks and Joseph Pace, you guys are the real Game-Changers in this space! You have educated millions of people on what a plant-based diet is all about. You gave me a huge platform to share my voice and demonstrate the possibilities of plants and performance. The Game Changers is truly an epic documentary and will be for years to come.
Kathryn Goldman, you have been responsible for all of the dirty work. Contracts, contracts, contracts. Thank you for not just sending me marked-up contracts but rather teaching me the best ways to protect myself and my work. Many attorneys would never take so much of their time to do that. I learned so much about law because of you. Thank you!
Emily Stephenson, Wow! What can I say chyle, you jumped in during the fourth quarter with bells ringing and a positive attitude ready to pull this book together. Thank you for guiding me to articulate my story, organizing every detail with your hawk eyes. You are a true editor (and all of the above) in the publishing space, and every suggestion, opinion, and thought you had helped this rookie bring her passion for cooking to the publishing world. Biggest gratitude to you! You are so amazing.

Thank you to my DAY ONE Titan players, who allowed me to just create. You guys let me whip up whatever I wanted and gave me so much confidence in my passion to cook. Jurrell Casey, DaQuan Jones, Wesley Woodyard, Tye Smith, Brian Orakpo, Rishard Matthews, Brett Kern, Johnathan Cyprien, Daren Bates, Erik Walden, and the many others who signed on after these guys raved about the food. I thank all of my friends (and social media friends) who have asked for a book for years. You truly are the reason this book came together. You asked and asked, and I had to deliver. Thank you for inspiring me to inspire you.
