Preface
Lets please stop with the constitutional amendment talk.
It is January 29, 2009. At 6:55, not 1855 military time but 6:55 a.m., the phone rings.
You should have watched Oh, What News show on TV that was last night. Anyway, we need a constitutional amendment. This call is from my dad.
No good morning from my dad; just jump right into a conversation.
I am listening to him. I finally get a word in edgewise. Pops, you just gave me my first line to my book that I am writing. Lets please stop with the constitutional amendment talk.
At times since 9/11, we could not get a majority of American voters. Fifty-one percent to admit that we are at war with terrorists. They have been at war with America for over twenty years, yet at times since 9/11, we could not get American voters to acknowledge this simple yet lethal truth. We are at war !
A constitutional amendment requires two thirds (66 percent) of the states to agree on an issue for ratification. We could not get 51 percent of voters let alone 66 percent of states to agree.
Please stop with the constitutional amendments. We have a constitution that works when we appoint judges to interpret law, not to make law. The Supreme Court should elucidate, not legislate.
This is a book of what will work for America to regain her rightful place once again. Ten short chapterslets get started.
Note: All profit from the sale of this book, What Is Old We Will Make New Again, is to be divided:

Acknowledgment
This book is dedicated to an unapologetic northeast former teacher still ultraliberal. Over the course of many years, with in-depth discussions on numerous issues, we would verbally do battle over the telephone. Tom in Connecticut; me in Florida.
Tom, my friend and a teacher of school children, taught at different levels of public education. After our telephone talks that left me contemplating, Tom as the teacher in the classroom all those years caused me concern.
Toms historical reasoning and conclusions pertaining to America were alarming to me, to say the least. Therefore, Tom gets the credit for motivating me to put pen to paper.
Introduction
In the year 1979, I graduated from high school. In 1981, at the age of twenty, drove south 1,250 miles from Connecticut to Florida. In 1985, I sold my Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a down payment to purchase a house in Largo, Florida. In 1986, I started a small local moving company.
Above the desk in our home, where I schedule moving jobs, hangs an article in a picture frame. The article is dated September 22, 1994, from The Southington Observer my birthplace city newspaper. Printed in quotes are taken from what I wrote over twenty years ago at the age of thirty-three when I was president of the Greater Pinellas Young Republicans . I know, yes, I know, in our thirties yet young republicans. True, that was our age at the time.
The creation of private sector jobs is the engine that drives the economy. Tax revenue flows from this base. Do not be alarmed. I believe in the individual over the state, so dont be alarmed when I use the word nationalist . First and foremost, I am what I would call an American Nationalist.
As an example, when it comes to foreign aid, I do not want to cut it; I want to abolish it.
The United States of America has a proud and proven history of coming to the aid of other countries and peoples in time of natural disaster, famine, war, political revolution. But what happens when we ask for help or assistance?
I am not a diplomat, and I dont want to call it protection money; but if for some reason, we are asked to restore order if we need to be involved somewhere someway, then pay us for our service. Nations call on the United States for military or financial assistance, and I believe our government spends too much money abroad developing foreign countries. (Cato Institute, March 17, 1997)
It is time once again, and it is a long time coming to put Americans and America first. This book starts with a preface, then ten chapters to follow on returning America to a self-sustained, economic, and military land of our fathers.
I drove to Florida in a small, old, Ford Pinto. I sold my motorcycle down here to purchase a home.

How is the Constitution amended?
Article V of the Constitution prescribes how an amendment can become a part of the Constitution. While there are two ways, only one has ever been used. All 27 Amendments have been ratified after two-thirds of the House and Senate approve of the proposal and send it to the states for a vote. Then, three-fourths of the states must affirm the proposed Amendment
(Cato Institute, March 17, 1997) Rather than increasing funds, Congress should pull the plug on barnacleencrusted, elitist, selfserving institutions like the United Nations, the World Bank, AID, the Export Import Bank and the IMF.

Chapter 1
American Health Care for Americans
You start with those four words: Mean what you say, and you could be well on your way to fixing several problems here in the United States.
The ever increasing cost of health care hits the rich as well as the poor. The owners of American companies need to include the cost of health care for their employees into the selling price of their product. Thus, their product costs more to sell; it costs us American consumers more money to purchase.
Lets fix health care. If you are an American, you are entitled to receive American health care. Every American citizen will receive an American Care ID card. Use this ID card at your doctors office; use this card at the emergency room. You have an ID card; you receive care. No ID card, no care with no AC card, emergency room, medical staff will stabilize you, but that is it. Americans first; America first.
My time working at a hospital in the emergency room was an experience. I started as armed security third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for five days a week. You would think that the emergency room was for emergencies.
The emergency room processed three groups of people: (1) emergencies, (2) drug and/or alcohol addiction, and (3) the homeless. Groups 2 and 3 were repeat patients.
