There is no easier stir fry recipe as easy as this one. Its a delicious and savory chicken wok recipe that I know you are going to love.

Makes: 6 Servings

Total Prep Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp. of brown sugar, light
  • 2 tbsp. of soy sauce, low in sodium
  • 2 tbsp. of soy sauce, dark
  • 1 tbsp. of oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. of hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp. of black pepper
  • 1 tsp. of sesame oil

Ingredients for the chicken:

  • 2 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless and cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp. of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. of ginger, fresh and minced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil

Ingredients for the vegetables:

  • 2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups of shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of cabbage, Chinese and shredded
  • 1 cup of carrots, fresh and cut julienne style
  • 1 onion, chopped

Other Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces of udon noodles
  • 3 green onions, fresh and chopped

Directions:

1. First cook the noodles according to the directions on the package. Once cooked, drain the noodles and set aside.

2. Then use a small bowl and add in all of the ingredients for the sauce into it. Stir well to mix and set aside.

3. Use a separate medium bowl and add in the chicken, low sodium soy sauce, dark soy sauce, minced ginger and minced garlic. Toss well to mix.

4. Place a large wok over medium to high heat. Add in the extra virgin olive oil. Once the oil is piping hot add in the chicken. Cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken begins to turn brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.

5. Add another two spoonfuls of the olive oil. Once the oil is hot enough add in the mushrooms, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots and chopped onion. Stir well to mix. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until the vegetables are soft.

6. Add the chicken back into the wok. Add in the cooked noodles and the sauce. Toss well to mix.

7. Remove from heat and serve immediately with the green onions.

Makes: 2 to 4 Servings

Total Prep Time: 1 Hour and 25 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of flank steak, sliced into inch slices
  • 1 tsp. of vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. + cup of cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, for frying
  • tsp. of ginger, minced
  • 5 red chili peppers, dried and optional
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • cup of soy sauce, low in sodium
  • cup of chicken broth, low in sodium
  • 2 tbsp. of brown sugar, light and packed
  • 1 tbsp. of cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. of water
  • 2 scallions, sliced thinly

Directions:

1. In a large bowl add in the beef slices, the vegetable oil, soy sauce and one tablespoon of the cornstarch. Stir well to mix.

2. Dredge the beef in the remaining cup of the cornstarch until coated on all sides.

3. Place a large wok over high heat. Add in 1/3 cup of the vegetable oil into it. Once the oil begins to smoke add in the beef slices. Sear for 1 minute on each side. Transfer to a baking sheet.

4. Drain the oil from the wok, leaving only a spoonful of it. Increase the heat to high. Add in the minced ginger and the chili peppers. Stir well to combine ingredients. Cook for 30 seconds before adding in the minced garlic. Continue to cook for an additional 10 seconds before adding in the soy sauce and chicken stock. Stir well to mix.
