Preface
Following the success of the last edition, Advances in Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence provides a collection of original works covering a range of topics within the area of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, this volume brings together a new collection of up-to-date chapters written by a diverse range of international scholars.
Works were carefully selected from 100 papers submitted to the 2020 edition of the International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (ICPRAI 2020). The conference, sponsored by the Centre for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (CENPARMI) as well as other scientific, technological and industrial partners, brought individuals from all over the world together through a lucrative virtual online conference. Fourteen papers presented at the international event were chosen and extended to showcase current and novel works produced by a diverse international group of authors.
Chapters cover a range of topics and applications, which highlight the many ways pattern recognition and artificial intelligence can be studied and applied in our complex and quickly changing world. In . With the development of new and Generative Adversarial Network model to recognize and extract palm veins, their experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of their proposed model, which has important implications for automatic biometric personal verification and information security.
, Al-Qawasmeh and Suen then outline a new way to detect the writer gender from scanned handwritten documents based on the concept of transferlearning.
The remaining chapters address topics including image analysis, financial applications, database creation, text analysis, as well as neural networks.. The authors also design two interactive algorithms and demonstrate their effectiveness.
