CONTENTS
In 2011 I weighed nearly 280 pounds and was unhappy and constantly lethargic. I felt like there was a heavy weight not only on my body, but on my emotions, too. I felt worthless and I tried to eat my feelings. I used food as an escape rather than a refuge. I had no idea of the damage I was doing to my body. I thought eating when I felt down was the answer to my problems.
Then my doctor told me that, if I kept it up, my life could take a severely dark turn. So I walked out of her office, took her warning to heart, and started running that night. I worked out twice a day, starting with interval running. I would run for five minutes, then walk for five minutes, until I could run for thirty minutes a day without stopping.
Next, I looked at my food choices and realized something had to give. I stopped eating processed foods, cut out all sugar and sodas, and switched to sparkling water and regular water. I drank only black coffee, instead of sweetened coffee drinks, and ate all the veggies, potatoes, and fruit my body would allow. I googled trendy diets and found the Paleo diet. Doing that search saved my life.
The Paleo diet has allowed me to lead a healthy, active life. Im proud to report Ive successfully lost 155 pounds naturally through diet and exercise. And Im always full of energy. Its a lifestyle, not a diet!
My life did a complete 180. I started my own business. I started my blog, Fitty Foodlicious, in 2016. Now, Im a recipe and content creatorI write about health and wellness and how we can heal our bodies with food. I truly believe that if we eat the right foods and exercise every day, we can cure nearly anything thats ailing usall while balancing our hormones at the same time. I also write about mental health and how our diet dictates our anxiety and happiness levels every day.
Adopting the Paleo lifestyle isnt easy, but its completely adaptable. With The 5-Ingredient Paleo Cookbook, I have taken the fuss and complication out of cooking Paleo to give you simple, affordable, healthy recipes for you and your family. You will go from wondering what to buy at the grocery store, to grocery shopping as a favorite activity. These recipes are fun and healthy and offer a simple spin on a diet that has been around since cavemen (and women!) walked this earth. Welcome to The 5-Ingredient Paleo Cookbook. Now, lets dive in!
