Dedication
This book is a tribute to all those who were here before us.
Each time we perform a magic ritual, we use different herbs, crystals, stones, plants, flowers, and oils extracted from Mother Earth to channel various energies. But we must remember that this powerful energy was once in the hands of our ancestors and that, even now, they remain a part of ita part of its memory, its essence, and its spirit. Thus, through the practice of magic and sorcery, we honor our ancestors. We channel them and embrace them in an eternal cycle of colorful energies that rotates between planes and reaches our hands.
This book is for all those who have discovered the power of magic and inherited the ancestral wisdom that connects us to Mother Earth, to the Sun, to the Moon, and to the rest of the stars in the sky, in all of their various phases. This book is meant to honor them from a small corner of every magic shop and every house where a witch, a sorcerer, a magician, or a believer dwells.
May this book be a balm for your spirit and a fresh breath of magic for your home. May it be a talisman of wisdom and a powerful force for magic in your life, every day of your life. Read it, study it, and let it guide your practice. And may it teach you to become an agent of magic in the lives of those around you. May it guide you on your path to becoming a powerful mage, honoring your ancestors by helping others through its magical lore. May you yourself become a charm bag full of blessings, magic, and wisdom. May you do magic every day and may your days be full of happiness. This is the best gift you can give to your ancestors.
To my ancestors and yours, blessed be their spirits in every life and every cycle, always.
Blessings, Elhoim.

Foreword
By my mind and my body, by my soul and my will,
I conjure a magic that's focused and still
By curio and herb, by darkness and light,
I conjure a talisman with strength and with might.
By breath and by smoke, by oil and key
I conjure a charm that's tied just to me.
By blessings and prayers, by songs and by rhyme
I conjure a spirit that will grow in time.
With this enchantment, my sovereign decree,
I conjure my ally, so shall it be!
The Conjuring of the Charm Bag, from my own Book of Shadows.
Currently I have a charm bag in every room of my house and business, in my car, as well as two that travel with me on my many adventures. I consider them to be trusty companions along the all too often lonely road of life. Some of them are so old and I have worked with them for so long that I am convinced that they possess their own personalities. Always willing to express gratitude for an offering well-made and always willing to express disappointment when I have lacked on my end of the bargain. Faithful to me and me alone, these charm bags are crafted from the finest ingredients and, in some cases, took months to make. Raw opals from Australia, volcanic ash from Mt. St. Helens, a feather gifted by an owl-keeper, and the dried husks of an Amazonian pitcher-plant are some of the curios you might find among my wares. Each article was carefully selected and laboriously nurtured, before combining it with the others. Every magical practitioner has their own special way of constructing charm bags and no two are quite the same, our secret alterations kept close to the heart.
