INTRODUCTION
TO ART GLASS

BETWEEN 1880 AND 1920 AMERICAN GLASS FACTORIES CREATED WHAT BECAME KNOWN AS ART GLASS. Its subtle shading and attractive shapes appealed especially to Victorian women and the wealthy. Their desire was to own what was in vogue, the latest nuances. Certainly more than 30 unique types were fabricated. Numerous tableware examples were offered, there also was a predominance of vase forms.
