Introduction
Since December 2019 when the world economy and incomes around the world took a hit, working at home is fast becoming a more appealing option.
There are so many jobs you can do from the comfort of your home to earn a living; from filling surveys to selling some of your old stuff online, babysitting, dog-walking, the list is endless.
However, while you can earn some money from your efforts, this money will nowhere be commensurate with the time put in and so isn't worth the effort.
If you would like to earn a good living online (we are talking a few thousand each month), then you would need to search for other well-paying online job opportunities.
Luckily, this book right here details some of these high paying online job opportunities. As you read along, you will be presented with not one, but eleven of some of the highest paying work-at-home opportunities. With these, you can actually earn a full-time living, enough to live comfortably on and this without leaving the comfort of your home.
However, you should know that before you can make a success of any of these online earning opportunities, a few things will be required of you, one of these being you will be required to have one or more skill sets.
These skills can be learned online and at your own pace. You can learn some of them and be a pro in six months or less if you commit to it.
Most people who will respect and look upon as pros started out as novices, with some teaching themselves and learning from both free and paid resources available around.
Alongside these high-paying jobs, I will be sharing how you can acquire the skill required for each of the jobs, so sit back, relax (hopefully with a pen and notepad) as we go along on this short, but detailed money-earning journey.

11 Highest Paying Work-at-Home Jobs to Earn $2,000 Monthly
1. Graphics Designer
I just had to start with this job and for very obvious reasons.
Businesses are always going to need logos, brochures, flyers, complimentary cards, and the likes and this is where the services of a graphics designer come in. Graphics designers are always going to be in high demand.
To make money with this job you need to have a good eye for colors and the ability to use design programs like adobe illustrator, canva, photoshop, Corel draw, and similar such programs.
Most graphic designers are self-taught. You can teach yourself online by taking free or paid courses on
- Udemy
- Coursera
- Shaw Academy
- Lynda
- Tutsplac- YouTube
Graphics designers make money through different means including:
- Becoming a freelance designer.
- Creating and sell printables
- Selling templates
- Creating premade logos to sell on Hatchwise
- Becoming a consultant
- Creating a course
- Training others.
Graphics designers earn an average of $20 and $45 per hour, depending on how creative you are and you could earn up to $3,000 and $7,000 per month.
2. Web Designer
Next on our list of top-earning online job opportunities is web designing. Not to be confused with web development which deals with the back-end creation and management of a website, web designing deals basically with designing the front end of a site.
You would require very little to no coding knowledge for this job. You would be needing other skills though, like a good eye for colors and design as well as some knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and SEO.
Web designers charge per project and the average rate falls between $2,000 and $5,000 per month, which could work out to between $4,000 and $20,000 per month.
3. Video Editing
This online job requires some editing skills. There are tons of videos and courses that will teach you the art of video editing and with enough time and dedication, you should develop the required skill.
With video editing, you can earn about $15 and up to $40 per hour. This could see you earning an income in the range of $2,000 and $6,000 per month.
4. Book Author
This is my favorite means of earning and for obvious reasons. Authors earn an income regarded as passive income and for this life too.
There are thousands of books written every day. On Amazon alone, about 5,000 books get published per day. However, no matter how stiff the competition, you can and still will earn a tidy income each month from your writing abilities.
To be a successful author, you should follow these tried and tested tips:
- Put your books on the platform likely to give you the most sales. In this case, as a self-published author, while there are lots of publishing platforms to choose from, Amazon remains the boss as it controls over 80% of the self-publishing platform, so you want to start with this.
Once your books are published on Amazon and are starting to make some sales, you should consider other platforms to boost your earnings. Platforms like Lulu, Draft to Digital, Rakuten Kobo, and Streetlib also do well.
- How well you promote your books.
How much money you earn as an author varies and depends largely on how well you market your books.
While you are guaranteed to make some organic sales, you will greatly boost your earnings by marketing and promoting your books as best you can.
On average, authors earn between $1,000 and $5,000 per month.
5. Sales Copy Writer
Every ad you see online on Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform, was written by a sales copywriter.
The words in the copy are geared at selling a product or service and must be persuasive enough to make a connection with the customer and draw them in.
Becoming a sales copywriter is straightforward as it doesn't exactly require any specialized skills. You should, however, have good English skills, have some basic marketing skills, be a decent writer, and should understand human psychology on at least some basic level.
Sales copywriters charge by the project and the going rate is $250 and $2,000. This could work out to between $2,000 and $10,000 per month, depending on how many projects you can execute.
6. Become a Course Creator
This is another good one and that's because anyone can become a course creator.
If you are a professional in a field, then you can package that knowledge in a course.
You don't even have to be a trained professional. It could be a hobby; something you enjoy doing and can teach another from start to finish.
You can create courses on just about any subject, something you are quite good at from cooking to weight loss, photography, digital marketing, the list is endless.
You can sell your courses on Udemy or Coursera and since most courses sell at $100 to $2,000, you could make up to $25,000 monthly, depending on how well you can market yourself.
7. Ad Manager
Ad managers plan and direct the advertising campaign for brands. For this job, you would be needing the following specialized skills:
- Knowledge of how to run ads, monitor, and manage ads on different platforms.
- Some moderate to extensive marketing skills.
You can learn these skills by taking one or more courses and reading a ton of ad management books available online.
Ad managers make an average of $200 and $2,000 per client and you could easily make between $2,000 and $20,000 per month.
