As my wife and I raised our four children, we talked often about the dangers of excessive screen time. We did our best to guide them and limit their screen activity. FOREWORD

A young pastor once asked me if I would mentor him. He was serving at his first church and was experiencing significant difficulties. Upon our first meeting, he had no sooner settled into his seat in my office than his cell phone noisily vibrated, alerting him to an incoming message. I will never forget the look on the mans face. He knew I was a busy person and that my time was valuable. But his curiosity was killing him! So he glanced at his phone for several seconds before returning his attention to me. Less than three minutes later, another notification interrupted our conversation. Again, he looked down at his phone before rejoining our conversation.
