Acknowledgments

Thanks to these people for their assistance and support in writing this book:

Ron Krannich and Mardie Younglof of Impact Publications. For over ten years now, we have worked together as team and made a positive difference with many military spouses and their families. Thank you for giving me that first opportunity to become an author and for allowing me to continue on my personal mission with our successful books. Id also like to thank Carol S. Cable of CSC Creations for the wonderful work on the graphics and layout of this book.

Marty Emory. You are a great connector of ideas and people and you set the example for the rest of us. Thank you.

Everyone should have a job that she loves. I do. As a freelance writer and careers consultant, I get to write for some fantastic organizations that I am proud to be affiliated with. The Military Officers Association of America (MoAA), www.moaa.org , is one of them. MoAA is a professional association for military officers and their families at every stage of life and career. They serve everyone in the greater military family, through their tireless legislative efforts and through the MoAA Scholarship Fund. Since 2005, I have authored the Homefront column and periodic features for MoAA. I am eternally grateful to Warren Lacy for giving me that first opportunity and for the editorial expertise through the years of Molly Wyman and most recently, Willow Nero. I am also grateful for the professional support Ive received from CDR Rene A. Campos, USN-Retired who currently serves as MoAAs Deputy Director, Government Relations.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank the following people for their support and/or business: Heather Benit and Chad Stewart of the Stars and Stripes Newspapers, Kerry Tucker of Military OneSource, Lindy Kyzer and Eric Pecinovsky of ClearanceJobs.Com, and those who have attended the Army Community Service (ACS) job search support group that I facilitate in Stuttgart, Germany.

In the course of writing this book, I tapped into the expertise and thoughts of those around me. Thanks to these individuals for theirs: Julie Gifford, Robbie Belesimo, Jeanne Roth, Martha Povich, Kelly Measells, Paula Hallam, Deb Milstein, Kimberly Frady, Linda Benedik, Diana Hartman, Lisa Molinari, and Terri Barnes. My apologizes if I left anyone else off here.

Thanks to Terrie Farley for coming up with the idea of logitivity and for letting her mom borrow it for this book.

Finally, I am forever grateful to Farley, Frannie, Terrie, and Bella for reminding me everyday about what matters the most in my life.
