Introduction

What people looking to obtain employmentneed to understand is that getting a job is a job, you might needto put in overtime. Most people looking for a job rarely look for ajob on the weekend, let alone do job search, if you dont utilizethe weekends as an opportunity to obtain employment, you areselling yourself short.

Its important to explain to people seekingemployment there are no shortcuts to success. Over the years Iverealized that in order to be successful in business, you must besystematic in your approach to success. Most people use a staticapproach to job search, which I define as acting upon opportunitieswithout any specific direction, therefore, not producing the propermotion initiative, and of course not producing the desiredresults:

When we are looking for a job, what peoplehave a tendency to do is apply for anything that is available,which I can completely understand because we want to obtainemployment as quickly as possible, especially when you have peoplerelying on you and have a family to feed, but the reality is, ifyou used a systematic approach, you would find employment in under30 day and in some cases three days.

I will go through the five steps you need tofollow to get employed quickly, I will also throw in some craigismsthat you should consider while pursuing employment. Craigisms areonly in this book, dont look for it in the dictionary, you wontfind it, but if you look for me in the dictionary, you will find meunder hard work and determination. So lets look at the five stepsto employment swiftly.

Chapter One

Goal Setting

The best way to describe Goal Setting is tomake a plan, and dont stop until you have reached that goal. Thedifference between a dreamer and a goal setter is a dreamer, wishestheir lives were a particular way. A goal setters life will unfolda particular way based upon the time line and goals he or she setsfor themselves. Setting a goal is critical success in life. Nothingis more important.

Write down everything

When I conduct my seminars and ask thequestion, what is the first step to employment? I often hearcertain steps people follow such as prayer, updating resumes,obtaining clothing, researching employment, and walking door todoor and ask if the employers are hiring.

There are short term goals and long termgoals. We must first establish what those goals are. If you dontestablish what your deadline for obtaining employment is, then youwill find yourself searching in some cases months, and in manycases, years!

A goal is needed to be able to checkprogress along the way, think about it for a moment, if you dontsee some progress within two weeks of your goal, then we have tore-evaluate what action we are taking to seek employment, becausesomething isnt working.
