Instructions to follow:
You will need the 5.5 mm crochet hook along with four different colors of cotton yarn and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends. The gauge is not important in this item.
You will start with chain 4 and then join it to a ring with the help of slip stitch. After this, you will work in rounds.
Round 1: Chain 4, work (3 double crochet into the centre of the ring, chain 1) three times and then 2 double crochet into the centre of the ring. Join to close with the help of a slip stitch.
Note: In general the different rounds are to be made with different colors, but if you want to make the second round with the same color, just keep making slip stitch until you reach the chain 1 at the corner and then keep working. When desiring to change the color, you have to cut the yarn leaving a long tail and fasten it with slip stitch. Join the new yarn at one of the corners and tie securely.
Round 2: To work the corner of this round, you will make chain 4 and then 2 double crochets in the same space and then chain 1 followed by 3 double crochet in the same space. The first corner is done and you will then make chain 1 and work the next corner by working 3 double crochet in the next space and chain 1 followed by 3 double crochet in the same space and chain 1. You will repeat the said process two more times to complete the round.
Round 3: You will have to work the corner in the same way as you did in the previous round. Make chain 4, 2 double crochet in the same space, chain 1, 3 double crochet in the same space and chain 1. To make the sides, just work 3 double crochet in the next space and then chain 1. You will repeat this method till you reach another corner.
You will have to keep working in this manner, with 2 clusters in the corners and one cluster on the sides till you complete the round. You have to make sure that there is chain 1 between each grouping of 3 double crochets as you work each round. This process will help you to get the nice looking spaces between each cluster and maintain a flat shape for the dishcloth.
You will have to repeat the round 3 for 2 more times and then join with a slip stitch and then fasten off. If you want to make the dishcloth bigger, just continue making the round 3 with the color of your choice.
