WILDERNESS CANOE TRIP CHECKLIST

This basic checklist is what we use on our canoe trips. The list of clothing is minimal as conserving weight is important, but it includes lots of layers to keep you comfortable and warm. It is helpful to read this list out loud to camping companions to make sure no one has forgotten any important items, such as a hat or sunglasses. The Camping Equipment list is also aimed at canoe trips, but many of the items are necessary for backpackers as well. The Cooking Equipment list will be effective for any type of camper. Even though this list is written for canoe trips, it is easily adapted for other types of wilderness excursions. Referring to the list will also help save you time in preparing for your trip. Personalize the list by adding items you may consider indispensible such as your bird book or that comfy camp pillow you bought last year.
