About the Author
Jaime Campbell , CPA, MBA, CTT, MCT
As a young musician, Jaime learned that mastery brings freedom and possibility. As she studied her piano repertoire, she ascertained that if she learned how to play the music as the composer intended, then she could invent new ways to play it.
As a music education student at Florida State University, learning to play instruments from South America, China, Bali, and Ghana as well as many different vocal styles from around the world, Jaime understood that deep expertise, as a gateway to self-expression, must be a given. In other words, there's more fun to be had when you can play the notes correctly the first time - than spend your time experimenting and creating instead of just learning the notes!
As a music teacher, Jaime created some special ensembles, one of which was rehearsing before school one day. The children knew the music very well, and Jaime had them play it by clapping... then on drums... then they went outside and played the same music with sticks upon the metal fence. Suddenly one student exclaimed:
"Oh!" he said, "I get it! The music isn't inside the instrument - it's inside of me!"
Now a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers Business School, Jaime still believes that mastery brings freedom and possibility. Her foray into business computing started with the F1 key (Help) and she soon mastered the software essential to her trade, becoming a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and a Certified Microsoft Master.
Propelled by a desire to help other businesspeople to transform their experience of software from one of drudgery to one of opportunity, she attained additional designations of Certified Technical Trainer and Microsoft Certified Trainer. Jaime now delivers seminars, webinars and workshops, and provides technology consulting services.
Jaime wrote this book as an expression of her sense of discovery and play, of moving quickly through mundane tasks and into the complex, value-added areas to help businesses gain significant, actionable insights.
Jaime is a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants ( AICPA ) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants ( NJSCPA ). She is also a member of the NJSCPA Technology Interest Group and Financial Literacy Interest Group, serves as an Officer on the NJSCPA Mercer County Chapter Board of Directors, is a member of the New Jersey Association for Women Business Owners ( NJAWBO ), and volunteers as a Spanish-language business consultant with the New Jersey Small Business Development Center.
After all these years of teaching and working personally with business owners and their teams, this book was a great deal of fun to write. The writing process felt just like giving a workshop for a sold-out house!
Jaime wishes each reader freedom and possibility with QuickBooks.
