What makes a kitchen spectacular? We combed the state and found the most talented design professionals in Texas and asked them to showcase their favorite kitchens to help us answer that question. On the following pages, you will see a variety of styles of gorgeous kitchens and the eye-catching spaces around them. You wont get to meet the homeowners, though you will get a sense of who they are simply by touring the heart of their home. A kitchen, like any space in a home, is very personal and it tells a story. I had the privilege of accompanying many of the artisans into their works of art, and it was obvious to me what kind of people lived in the spacesthe animal lovers with dog beds sprinkled around, the big family with artwork on the fridge, the entertainer with tons of seating and a huge dining table. Every home was interesting in its own unique design. The kitchen space was always determined by the needs, lifestyle, and budget of the dwellers. And the artistry is impressive. The professionals behind the designs are the dream-makers and the producers of every detail that results in the dazzling kitchen spaces youll see in this book. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone whose work is displayed in this collection, not only are they uber-talented, they are a group of laidback, kind, and friendly people who I thoroughly enjoyed working with! Many of them have contributed their work in several of my previous books and become friends and trusted collaboratorsfor that I am eternally grateful. Its because of these industry leaders that I have a platform to continue to produce beautiful books that inspire.

One thing I learned as I produced this book is that size and scale do not equal spectacular. I found that regardless of square footage or price point, every kitchen has its unique personality and function designed for its purpose, whether its for the avid cook, the busy family, or the bachelor in a high-rise. I am a cook and I throw a lot of dinner parties, so the kitchens with the most extravagant appliances appealed to me, particularly the ones with beautifully displayed wine storage. In fact, I was motivated to add a few design elements to my own kitchenI had some white linen roman shades made and I added some black and white linen stools to my bar. As you can see in the picture here, my kitchen is small, so these tasteful additions made a huge impact.
