A Message to the Financial Coach

I want to thank you for choosing to become a Financial Coach for the Genesis Financial Ministry. Becoming a coach means that you have a solid understanding of the financial principles taught in the Bible and desire to share those with others who are in need of a new financial beginning. Very few children grow up with parents who teach biblical financial management skills. When these children become adults, they carry with them many of their parents poor financial habits. Many lack the basic financial knowledge, wisdom, and ability to put together a simple financial plan. And if that wasnt enough, add a major financial challengepoverty, homelessness, or near homelessnessand you have people who are in desperate need of more than a workbook filled with charts and financial words like budget and stewardshipthey need you.

What you can bring to this ministry and to those you meet with is more than what can be written in a book or taught in a class. You bring financial knowledge and wisdom coupled with love, compassion, encouragement, and accountability expressed in a genuine relationship that you begin to build during your first encounter with those you will counsel. All of this is the reason why it is so important for you to know that this ministry is about people first and numbers second. Being a Financial Coach requires you to know that people dont care how much you know until they know how much you care.

F or those making their living in the investment or financial world, the word alpha is used regularly to compare the return of a particular investment to an average. For us, though, Alpha means something a little bit different. We dont invest in stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, but rather in people, churches, and nonprofit organizations to bring real change and lasting returns in our communities. Alpha Strategies Group is a collaboration of Christ-centered financial ministries whose focus is to provide biblical financial counsel, clearly teach Gods word on proper financial management, and provide consulting services to churches and organizations. Through our three ministries, Alpha Strategies Group is investing here for eternal returns.

We are people who believe in one God existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that the bible is infallible and from God. We believe in Jesus as the true and only son of God; in His birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of our heavenly Father and in the forgiveness of sins for all who place their faith in Jesus.

We are people who believe Jesus is the answernot more money. Everything we do is centered on Jesus being the way, the truth, and the life. The more we teach and explain Gods way of handling finances, the less consumed people will be with how much money they have and more concerned with how much Jesus they have.

We are people who genuinely want to serve you in the areas that God has gifted us withmoney and finances. We believe in planting seeds in people and watering them so that in due season fruit will come forth.

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said

Formless, void, and darkall words used to describe the chaos that existed before God spoke and many of the same feelings people have when it comes to finances and their financial future. Chaos will reign unless God speaks. But when He does, He is masterful at birthing order and beauty from chaos and darkness. We borrowed the name Genesis to convey the hope, beauty, and promises that a new financial beginning can provide with God as the architect.

Genesis Financial is a ministry that provides basic financial guidance to the financially underserved in our neighborhoods. Our belief is that anyone, regardless of how little their resources, can learn how to manage their finances properly when they begin with the right foundation. This foundation is found in Gods ways of handling finances coupled with a simple financial plan that is easy to follow.

You may be asking yourself, Who are the financially underserved? We use this phrase to describe the individuals, couples, and families who desperately need financial counseling yet dont fit the normal channels offered in todays profit-centered financial services system. Most often, this would be the poor, needy, homeless, and soon to be homeless. This service is also a great starting point for those who never had anyone teach them the basic financial truths found in the Bible or explain basic financial management tools and techniques.

Our Method

The best way to help a person is to walk with them through whatever challenge they are experiencing. It also helps to have knowledge, wisdom, and experience in whatever they are facing.
