When I was in high school, there was a sign in our locker room that read, When the going gets tough, the tough get going. That saying really impacted my life and became my mantra for dealing with difficult times. Ill have to admit, it didnt always work until my belief in Jesus became central in my life and I modified the statement to read, When the going gets tough, the Lord is always by our side. Read Trudy Cathy Whites wonderful book Climb Every Mountain and learn the truth of this statement many times over. Thanks, Trudy!

Trudy Cathy Whites book is disarmingly simple and helpful. She chooses a series of mountains that Christians must all climb as they seek to live lives of service to God. These range from stewarding wealth to raising children to facing tragedy. She lays out a pathway up each mountain with three questions about Know, Be, Live what must I know, who must I become, and what practical things should I do, in order to climb this mountain? Her counsel is personal, practical, and always accessible. An enjoyable read!

Foreword
Dear Reader,
I first met Trudy Cathy in the summer of 1964 when she attended her very first summer camp at Camp Crestridge for Girls. I recall welcoming a vivacious little girl who was beyond excited for her first camp experience. At the time, I served as the assistant director for Camp Crestridge and had ample opportunity to get to know Trudy as I directed various activities.
One of those activities was a weekly event known as Campfire. Campfire evenings started with campers building a fire and preparing their dinners outside their cabins; dinner was immediately followed by an evening walk through the beautiful North Carolina woods to an outdoor amphitheater. With music playing from the nearby chapel porch and campers placed on a talking ban, we walked the narrow gravel path toward our destination. We felt dwarfed by the mountains that rose majestically all around us.
When we arrived at the amphitheater, campers and counselors gathered around a large bonfire with a spectacular view of the lake and the mountains just beyond. In this peaceful setting, it was my responsibility to challenge and encourage the faith of the campers. Some of my sweetest memories of camp arise from times spent with the glow of the flames illuminating expectant, young faces.
Trudy was present during one of those Campfire nights when I felt led to turn the campers gazes across the lake and to the mountains in front of them.
