My nutrition and fitness research began more than 30 years ago and gradually progressed to become my lifes work. Fueled by my burning desire to help improve peoples well-being, I studied countless health-enhancing modalities through seminars, classes, workshops, books, manuals, and scientific journals, and trained under doctors and other health practitioners. My goal was not to acquire a collection of diplomas, certifications, or licenses, nor did I seek to break the record of accumulated course-work hours. My philosophy simply centered on the belief that the more I learned, the more tools I would have to help people attain increased well-being.
As I began to share my knowledge and witness the profound benefits people experienced as a result, I was able to expand my understanding of the fundamental principles of health and assist even more individuals.
You could say that the spark that ignited this book occurred more than 25 years ago when both clients and attendees at my lectures began requesting written materials highlighting and summarizing the information I taught. They encouraged me to write a book so that they could take the ideas home with them as a source of additional motivation and guidance. As much as I wanted to provide supportive material to everyone immediately, my full schedule of traveling, lecturing, teaching, and volunteering simply didnt permit me the time to sit down and write. Instead, I took a few free minutes here and there to jot down critical informationnotes that I wanted to compile into a helpful guide one day.
As the decades passed, I observed the continuing degradation of our planet, along with escalating health struggles for a large percentage of the population. It became increasingly important for me to get the information I had to a greater number of people. My heartfelt desire to reach and assist as many individuals as possible compelled me to finally complete the book you now hold.
It has been my overriding goal to make the information contained in these pages simple and straightforward to understand and apply, instead of getting caught up in tedious and confusing scientific and technical jargon. The principles of vibrant health are basic and easy (as they should be), and living them is pleasurable and sustaining (a big clue that youre on the path to success). This book will help guide you on an amazing journey with simple yet revolutionary approaches to wellness.
For years, Ive been hearing new clients say, I feel like Im falling apart. It became clear that their lifestyle structures werent solid. Instead of feeling sturdy and energetic, they often felt as though they were standing on frail pillars of sand. While they may have been doing well in certain areas, such as exercising, other areas were weakening because of detrimental dietary choices or negative mental habits.
To experience exceptional vitality and lasting energy well into our later years, its important to learn how to strengthen the pillars which support our lives. These include a healthful diet, positive mental habits, physical movement that engages the body in challenging and fun ways, and a compassionate connection with ourselves and others. Just as pillars are used to reinforce architectural structures, when we strengthen our health foundations, we thrive in fantastic ways.
