In this book I want to introduce you to what I like to call The Simple Life Healthy Lifestyle Plan. This all-encompassing lifestyle plan is something I put together after decades of being a special agent for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and after working with thousands of clients in the realm of health and wellness.
What I have learned from working with clients, and from working on my own health, is that most people today feel terrible but they have no idea where to start when it comes to bettering their health and wellness. There are thousands of health books, all touting instant health, and endless internet websites and blogs making it more confusing than ever before. Heres a simple fact: People today are buying more health-related cookbooks than at any point in our history, but the irony is fewer people are cooking their own meals and many are the unhealthiest theyve ever been. Hmm, something is wrong here!
I can tell you from the insider perspective of someone who has worked deep inside the food, drug and health industries, it is not by accident. Heres the key, though: We can continue to blame everyone else, but the fact of the matter is theres one thing we have a lot of control of in our life: our health. No one is twisting your arm making you eat that doughnut and consume that thousand-calorie latte while sitting on the couch. The only person doing that is you.
