Introduction
I t doesn't matter any more who you are, where you come from,
how well you did at school or who your daddy knows: today
anyone can start a business of their own without worrying about
how and where to find funding, premises, stock, business taxes,
tools, vehicles, safety certificates...
With a minimal amount of money ordinary people can - and do
fulfil their dreams. And they do it by starting online businesses.
At a time when many of us are feeling increasingly uncertain about the future - especially about our children's future - ordinary people with no special qualifications, very little money and no great technical knowledge or ability break free from the rat race and achieve a far more satisfying way of life.
In the past you'd have to think of selling your skills or the product of your handiwork. You'd have to move where the work or market-place was. And whatever you did, it would take years of toil and worry to turn a profit; years you couldn't really afford, because you needed to see results NOW.
Today it has never been easier for a person with average skills to make a very good living from their endeavours. For once in history, your advancement and the success in your life does not depend on who you know, which school you went to, marrying into the right family; it doesn't depend on your colour, creed, nationality, sex, age, religion, social status or personal charm.
All you need is an internet connection and a bit of knowledge.
That's all.
This short report sketches out a method which anyone can use to set up your own online business. It will take time, work, effort and perseverance. And the key to your success is the last of these: perseverance.
You will find many offers showing you how to make a million dollars a day by pressing a few buttons (usually these involve selling 'how to make a million dollars a day' type offers to the gullible). This method will not make you a million dollars a day. But a regular hour or two a day after your day job will produce results.
$100 a day may not seem like a lot; but $100 a day is $36,500 a year, not a bad living working from home. And once you've reached $100, there's nothing to stop you repeating the process until you're making $200 a day, $1000 a day...and so on.
So what's involved? Surely there's lots of difficult technical stuff to get your head round?
At first, it may seem daunting. But it's easy to learn. If you can use a keyboard and find your way round the internet, then you can do it.
And before you tell yourself you don't have the time to learn all this new stuff, I'll give you a link here and now to a mother of SEVEN children (she had them while building her business) whose family needed the money and who wanted to be at home with her little ones. Her name is Sara Young.
'In the past 2 years I was able to make a full-time income while being a stay-at-home mom to 6 kids, and having very little time to work.' (A quote from Sara's website).

One thing is for sure: so long as civilisation doesn't collapse entirely, the internet will thrive. Every year more and more people come online; and more and more shop online.
That's where you come in. You can make money by helping people with their shopping choices. You can make money by helping people find solutions to their problems. You can make money by helping people connect with what they seek. If people visit your website, like what you say and decide to buy a product you're featuring, you will earn a commission. That's how you make money.
In short, you can make money helping people. Which is a great way to make money!
Step One Find a Market
T here is only one thing a business needs to be successful: and that is a market .
You may have the most awful, badly made product ever but if lots of people want to buy it, you can make a fortune (the world of computing and electronics is full of inferior ideas and products which triumphed over better).
So this method relies on using that fact as the starting point. First, find your market.
Only after you have found what lots of people actually want do you start to look for a suitable product. This may seem nuts, but if you think about it, it makes sense:
A well-known marketer told a story, which itself has become very well-known.
'If you owned a hot dog stall, what advantages would you most like to have to make you insanely rich?
Would you like a superior tasting hot dog?
Would you like the best buns or ketchup?
Would you like the best stall with loads of parking place?
Would you like the lowest price?
None of these. The only advantage you need to make you insanely
rich:
Is... a starving crowd !'
So the best way to make money on the internet is to find people
who want to buy things and then to give them what they want.
Don't worry just yet about the product. If you have something
specific in mind - or better still if you have your own product
then you could start from that point. But most of us don't have
anything we can sell, so we need to find something. And it makes
sense to start off by finding that 'starving crowd' people who
really want to buy a particular thing.
So where to look?
One of my favourite ways to look for buyers is to go to Google or
Amazon and type in precisely those words that they are using. If I
know the product name, I might use that; but another good way to
tease out real buyers is to use 'buyer' keywords.
Let me explain.
I'm looking for a plasma TV. My search may go something like
this:
First, 'plasma tv' - I'm looking for general information about plasma
TVs.
Then, 'plasma tv 42' - I've decided that I'd like to look at 42 TVs.
Amongst these, I find I like the look of a Yamaha - so next I google
'yamaha 42 plasma tv'.
And so on.
In other words, as my search narrows and I close in on my target,
the keywords I use to find what I want to buy become more and
more precise. And when I change the order of the keywords, quite
often I find different sites with different information.
The keywords I use depend on which stage of the buying process
I'm at. Initially, I'll be looking for general information. When I
know that I want to buy a 'Yamaha XK 1600-NT 5 plasma 42TV'
then that's the term I'll use; and at that point I might well add
something along the lines of: 'best price for...', 'special offer on...'
or even 'buy...'
Now before going any further it's worth pointing out that
electronics and computer games are pretty tough markets because
they're kind of obvious high-ticket items. But there are plenty of
ways to exploit the popularity of even products like these: TV
