Being able to knit socks by hand is a highly desirable skill that will change your life once you have mastered it yourself! At least 40% of the worlds socks are made in China, but wouldnt it be better if you didnt have to rely on standard patterns, and the exactly the same footwear as everyone else? The only prerequisite to socks knitting is in knowing how to cast on, knit, as well as purl. This guide will of course demonstrate very clearly how to complete all of these stitches, plus a few more to help you.

Now you may know that the history of knitting is vague no one is entirely sure when it started and many countries stake claim to inventing it, but it may surprise you to learn that the very early knitting was actually confined to making socks and womens stockings so as you can see, creating socks by hand has been around for an extremely long time!

So as hobbies go, the benefits of this one just keep coming!

Even though there are numerous creative pursuits out there, knitting by hand allows one to knit reasonably well with little effort. All you need is perseverance. There may be several other hobbies that derive satisfaction, even then, knitting leaves you with something tangible that you made from almost nothing; something warm, comfortable and that which you can use day in day out.
