PREFACE

Hello!

You will find this book is different from many others on sacred sites. There are dozens of wonderful, well-researched, gorgeously photographed sacred site books. I have a few of those and treasure them. However, I dont wish to reinvent the wheel. Why then was I being guided to do this book?

I received a message from my Lemurian Elders early 2021 to write a book on sacred sites. This was to be my 14 th book to date. I had written many essays on my adventures at sacred sites which were published online, in blogs on my website (laurenothyme.com) and also in Power Trips Magazine and Magickal Blend magazine. I have lectured on and taught about sacred sites in public and in schools. I have the ability to bring the energy of particular sites into the lecture hall, have people close their eyes, where they would experience each place for themselves without my telling them in advance what I would bring in.

My life has been about service to others and the planet. Whatever spiritual matters I learn, I always want to share. I am addicted to visiting sacred places, just as Aluna Joy Yaxkin ( sacred site guide) explains that she is a sacred site junkie.

I deeply contemplated on the focus-to-be and how to proceed with this book. Finally, I decided to present a spiritual adventure story including the many sacred places I visited and how those places changed and transformed me, to excite and encourage you. Thousands of sacred sites exist around the world while I will only mention a few.

In addition, I offer a variety of metaphysical tour groups who guide people to sacred sites, to choose from a veritable cornucopia of sacred places led by skilled tour leaders from around the world. You can now find spiritual tours easily and effortlessly through this book and my website sacred-tours.herokuapp.com .

As Martin Gray suggests in his book Sacred Earth, Places of Peace and Power and his vast website Sacredsites.com, go to those places that enlighten your heart, speak to your soul, make you feel alive, excited or give you goosebumps when you look at their pictures or hear their names. They are waiting for you, to transform you AND in return are awaiting you to bring your energy to them like acupuncture for our ailing earth.

WHAT SACRED SITES ARE FOR ME

Lauren O. Thyme began this, her 14 th book, early in 2021. Its a privilege to be present with her when she creates a new book. Taken together her books present a manual for use and care of the soul in the three-dimensional world.

The beauty of Visiting Sacred Sites Can Transform Your Life is that Lauren does not tell people what to do. Instead, she shares her experience (over this lifetime and 106 others that she remembers). She encourages readers to plumb their own spiritual depths and work from their own truths, that inner truth detector we all have. For each of us its our job to find our own core truth and then learn to recognize and listen to the subtle voice of the promptings that our truths educate us to. Discernment.

One of Laurens Laws (see Cosmic Grandma Wisdom ) is Pay attention as though your life depends on it. It does. Thats where it starts for me, to discern and then pay attention to the messages that come.

My first spiritual experiences were guided by the tenets of Roman Catholicism. I was taught that I have a voice called a conscience. This voice tells me when Im in alignment with my deepest truth. From a young age I felt strongly that the voice of my conscience is my strongest truth. When I listen to it and make decisions based on what this voice informs me, my decisions are much better and more in alignment with whats best for all. Ive also had the sensation of experiencing the residual thoughts and feelings of other seekers as a psychedelic experience.

What did NOT ring true for me is that an ordained authority must interpret these voices for me. I am the hardware and the voice is the software. No one can experience that for anyone else.

Another benefit of being a companion in Laurens exploration is exposure to broader concepts, specifically evolutionary consciousness and conscious evolution. Lauren and I discovered early on in our relationship that both of us were strongly influenced by the Harmonic Convergence of the late 1980s and the subsequent introduction to the studies of the Mayan calendar as elucidated by Jose Arguelles, Ian Xel Lungold and, most importantly, Dr. Carl Calleman.
