Placing Perfect Pearls
Perfect Pearls can be an easy and fun way toadd some glimmer and shimmer to your layouts. These products comein a variety of pearlescent colors ranging from bold to subtle.
This is scrapbooking technique is bothsimple and fun. Using Ranger Perfect Pearls create a shimmeryeffect which can be as fine as a drawn line or as large as youwant. You can even use the pearls on a stamped image. These areacid free and scrapbooking safe so give them a try on any project. In the below example I stamped a doodle design using a permanentink on a transparency.
You will need a container of Ranger PerfectPearls, Ranger perfect medium pen or stamp pad and a paintbrush. Iuse a small paint brush for application and a large brush forremoval of the excess pearls.
You need to apply perfect medium to the areayou want the pearls to show up, then you can sprinkle or brush onthe pearls and brush off the excess. Only the shimmery pearls willremain on the area where the medium was applied.
If you are stamping, you have 2 options. Youcan first stamp the image with the ink pad. Let it dry thenre-stamp it with the medium and use the perfect pearls or just usethe medium on the stamp pad and then use the perfect pearls.Perfect Pearls can be used on any surface.
Getting Glimmer Mist
If you want to add a spray paint effect toyour layout or embellishments then give this product a try. GlimmerMist sprays with or without stencils can help you make some greatembellishments in minutes. These are acid free and scrapbookingsafe.
This is a fun and scrapbooking technique totry. It does take a bit of practice to get just the right amount ofspray on your project without too much wetness which can curl upyour paper. Just use a piece of scrap paper to practice on first.Using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprays and screens (stencils)create a fun spray paint effect while also masking the paper belowto create a stenciled or masked effect.
You will need at least one bottle of GlimmerMist spray, Glimmer Mist screens and some paper to practice on. Ifyou have plastic stencils at home those may be used in place of theglimmer mist screens. I would recommend at least one color sprayand one metallic spray to start. I also use mini mist bottles byRanger instead of the Glimmer Mist bottles. They have a finer mist;just make sure you shake the bottle well before pouring yourGlimmer Mist into the smaller bottle. I also label mine for easyreference.
Put your screen or stencil on the paper.Spray your first color. Then add additional colors as desired. Youcan see how the color is beading up on the plastic stencil.
Remove the plastic screen or stencil and letthe image dry.
Optionally you can add glitter, perfectpearls or other embellishments. In this example the embellishmentadded to the butterfly was Queen & Co. pearls.
Mastering Masking
Masking is a fun technique to try. Using aplastic or paper mask and some paint is a great new way toembellish your pages. You can make your own masks to create a trulyunique element that can fit any theme or project idea you can comeup with.
The best part about masking is that it issimple and easy and there is no need to purchase any suppliesunless you want to. All you need is some paint, a paintbrush orsponge and cardstock that you cut a design out of. Masks are theopposite of stencils. You are covering the area you dont wantpainted or stamped. You can see below I have placed several plasticletters down.
