The Power of a Simple Song
If I had to pick my favorite Overstreet song, it would have to be 'Forever and Ever, Amen' ... Over the years, I've recorded quite a few Paul Overstreet songs. I consider myself very fortunate each time I stand before and audience and sing his songs. More often than any other time, I see the powerful effect his words have on people.
From the Foreword by Randy Travis

Seldom has an American Country musician changed the face and tenor of the modern-day genre with as much impact as has Paul Overstreet the humble songwriter who chose to stop writing songs about misery and start writing songs that affirm family, the joys of marriage, staying faithful and finding happiness, and honoring your parents. These songs have gone on to become huge hits for Country artists such as Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Paul Davis, and the Judds. In his own words and with the voluble agreement of his hundreds of fans, who wrote e-mails to his website Paul tells how he was inspired to write such hits as I Fell in Love Again Last Night, Same Ole Me, Forever and Ever, Amen, Heroes, On the Other Hand, Sowin' Love, Til the Mountains Disappear, When You Say Nothing at All, and so many others. Forever and Ever, Amen is a celebration of life once lost, now found and a man who has written songs that have touched so many others in their everyday lives.

Forever and Ever Amen The Heart-Warming Stories Behind the Music of Paul Overstreet - image 4

W hile we have diligently researched all the e-mails that were received on Pauls website, endeavoring to obtain accuracy and true representation, not all of the people were able to provide their complete information for verification. Therefore, most people are identified only by their first name and an initial for their surname, and some people also have their hometown mentioned. Since some of that information has not been availableyet their stories were simply too good to excludewe have published them here anyway. Thank you in advance for your understandingand enjoy the book!

Jeanne Halsey

O ver the past couple of years, Paul Overstreet has become a good friend. He is a man of kindred spirit in calling our nations families back to Jesus Christ. His songs not only bring a smile to my face and refresh my soul, but they define real family values. Forever and Ever, Amen will tickle your funny bone, touch your heart and realign your family values! If you like Pauls songs, youll love this book!

Dennis Rainey
Executive Director, Family Life

P ual Overstreet, like many of us, is an example of Gods grace. I have had the privilege of working with him around the world and have been impressed with his enormous talent and sincerity. Paul Overstreet has penned some of the greatest songs in country music history. But what is most exciting to me is the fact that he has used his gift to also write songs that point people to the Lord Jesus Christ. One of my all-time favorites is God Is Good.

I thank the Lord for the song of praise that He put in the heart of Paul Overstreet. Thanks, Paul, for allowing God to speak through your music to encourage home and familyand most of all to publicly testify of Gods everlasting love.

Franklin Graham
Chief Executive Office, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
President, Samaritans Purse

I n a world where men have forgotten how to be real, Pauls songs are trail markers toward resurrecting a mans heart. Whether in Seein My Father in Me among men, Weve Got to Keep on Meeting Like This among couples, or One In a Million among singles, he teaches us to honor our longings and celebrate our joys.
