Introduction
Nothing says the holidays are here quite like a bubbling pot of chocolate or cheese fondue surrounded by a smorgasbord of dippers. I remember fondue being a part of every Christmas holiday when we would have family over and the kids would dip their sticks of fruit and pound cake into the warm and creamy chocolate. Gathering around a fondue pot makes this festive season sparkle even more and the conversation and good feelings last way past the party. Fondues come in different flavours and shapes and can range from bubbling cauldrons of gooey goodness to raging fountains of chocolate delight! My favourite dessert to serve on a cold winters evening during the festive season is a hot-pot of chocolate fondue with some fruit and pieces of cake for everyone to enjoy.
1. Chocolate bar fondue
You can put the chocolate in a food processor to break it up or use a cheese grater. I like to serve this fondue with some hulled strawberries, ladyfingers and brownie bites.

Directions
1. Melt grated chocolate and heavy cream in a pan on medium heat. Stir often and add the rest of the Ingredients . Mix well and continue to heat until smooth.
2. Chocolate Fondue
The best condensed milk is by EAGLE BRAND, but any brand will work. Serve this fondue with some pretzels, cookies or cubes of pound cake.

3.Chocolate fondue with heavy cream
The brandy and heavy cream in this fondue makes it decadent and addictive. The brandy I use is McGuinness cherry brandy because it is always in ready supply.

- 1 ounces heavy cream
- 1 ounce cherry brandy
- ounce brewed coffee
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon, ground

Ingredients
- 10 ounces heavy cream
- 1 ounces orange juice, freshly squeezed
- 12 ounces chopped dark chocolate
- ounce orange zest, grated
- 1 tsp Cointreau
Directions
In a heavy saucepan, heat cream and orange juice on medium until the liquid starts to gently boil
take pan out from heat and whisk in the rest of the ingredients right away. Keep whisking constantly until smooth
Transfer fondue to a fondue pot on Low and keep warm while serving.
5.South African Chocolate Fondue
If you like sweet cream liqueurs such as Baileys then you should give Amarula a try. The decadent creamy fondue will have your guests licking their lips and reaching for more.
Preparation Time -10 minutes
Servings -24
Ingredients
- 4 ounces Amarula liqueur
- 4 ounces whipping cream
- 16 ounces chocolate chips, semisweet
- 1 dash vanilla, or more to taste
Directions
In a fondue pot on Medium-Low, combine whipping cream and liqueur. Stir until liquid starts to boil and add chocolate chips. Reduce heat and stir chocolate until it melts. Add vanilla and stir to blend.
Keep fondue warm and serve with fruit or cake.
6.Creamy fondue
This creamy delight tastes amazing when served with some brownie bites or banana chunks. My kids love putting marshmallows on the sticks and soaking them in this sugary goodness.
